"Peter you promised!"
She shouted at him and snatched her hand away from him, the force almost knocking her off balance. She couldn't bare him touching her. He was like a disease she needed off her skin. She pulled her scarf up around her neck in a vain attempt to keep in any body heat she had left.
"you can't leave I need you"
"Ha! Then why didn't you go through with it?"
He ran his hand through his hair and mentally kicked himself for not being enough of a man.
"because I'm a damn coward!"
"not good enough Peter!"
his eyes watered and if anyone else was in front of him now He would blame the chill stinging his eyes but not to her. The one woman he had ever truly loved in his life. He didnt hide any emotion from her. She knew him better than he knew himself.
"where the hell is this flamin taxi!"
She tapped her foot impatiently cursing the so called "quick reliable" taxi firm ran by that pub landlord. She just wanted to get as far away from him and Coronation street as fast as she could.
"You know. I actually trusted you! Let you close, let you in my bed!"
"You still can trust me, I just..."
"Just what Peter? Backed out? Change of heart? Realised I was used goods afterall?"
"No!"
He lunged at her grabbing both of her shoulders, with some force. This action startled her and she felt uncomfortable being so close to him knowing he didn't want her.
"I love you. I always have loved you and unless I have a flamin heart transplant I always will Love you"
She crumbled. Her knees gave way and sobs wracked her entire body. She fell into him, not gracefully, and he kissed her hair forcefully. The cold step of underworld numbing the backs of her legs quickly.
"Then why didn't you just...just tell her!"
He rocked her making soothing sounds.
"Peter? Tell her, I can't live without you. Look at me! You're the only one I wake up in the morning for."
He close his eyes tight shut. This was once a powerful strong witted woman now a shell of her former self after what that bastard did to her. Sure he was now locked up after the court finally provided justice but she still was a shadow of the woman he once knew. Which only made him love her more.
"tonight"
"what?"
"tonight I'll tell her. I can't leave you for one more night I swear to god it's killing me"
She struggled against him, trying to get free almost laughing sarcastically.
"no you won't! You'll worm your way out of it and I'll be left alone as per usual"
She managed to get out of his hold and stood above him anger evident in her eyes.
"you will go back to her playing happy families and il be left. Poor me eh! If you really loved me you wouldn't have cared about the fall out this would cause"
"I promise, tonight"
"y'no peter men making promises is not exactly top of my list! You're all the same. Want what you can get then you leave!"
He stood up, anger now clearly evident in his eyes,
"I am nothing like any of those bastards. I wouldnt harm a hair on your head and deep down you know that!"
"this hurts worse Peter! you are ripping my heart out."
He knew now he had to man up. He had to go back to the flat and end it with Leanne for good. The woman stood in front of him, eyes pleading for him to be with her, his heart telling him he needed her, was the only one he ever wanted from now on.
"nothing to say?"
The taxi pulled up and Lloyd rolled down the window.
"Carla love? You ready?"
She turned to Peter and gave him a sad look.
"when do I get my happy ending eh?"
As she turned back to the taxi she was met with a figure in front of her. Red coat, blonde hair tied back, same look of disgust in her face whenever she looked at her.
"Seems you already have Carla!"
"Leanne!"
