Katie was a normal twenty-four year old. She drank a glass of wine on Saturdays, she went to social events. She attended school during the days. And she worked at the JCPenny's in Auburn Alabama. It was right behind the Village Mall off of Opelika Road. She attended Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine. She only had a year left until she got her PHD.

Her life was always mundane. She was adopted at the age of six by Mr. and Mrs. Linkin. Mrs. Linkin was unable to have children and adopted Katie and her two older brothers Mike and Skylr. Unfortunately Mike had died a year back when he was sent overseas to Iraq. He was an air force pilot and his engine on the plane exploded. He died on impact.

That wasn't the only person Katie has lost in her life. Only last spring, her boyfriend of two years was in a car accident. He was in a coma for two weeks before he passed away. Katie remembered how her mother had fallen apart. She had lost her husband two years before that and then just lost her only son. She died of a heart attack three weeks ago but Katie has yet to be informed.

Now it was Saturday. She had a 9:00 to 2:00 shift and it was 1:45. She decided to check if anything needed to be restocked. That's how she came across Clint Barton. He was looking at the ladies swimsuit section of the store and he looked rather distraught.

"Is there anything I can help you find?" Katie asked setting the box down on the counter next to the rack he was standing in front. Clara came up and took the box away from Katie's grip. She gave her a nodded and walked to the man with light blue eyes.

"So I want to get my friend a bathing suit. I want something bright. I just don't know what one I want." He confessed looking at her.

"Well, We have neon ones over here. What type of color does she like?"

"I have no clue!" He threw his hands up in frustration.

Katie giggled and decided to choose something that wasn't made entirely of strings. "Okay… what does she look like? We can find something that compliments her."

"Well she has short red curly hair. Not like red, but RED!" She smiled, men. "And she has kind of pale skin."

"What type of figure?"

"A human one?"

She actually laughed at that one, "No, No, Like hourglass or pear shape."

"Well it goes kind of like this," he moved his hands in a perfect hourglass shape.

"So hour glass," she plucked off a few more choices until she found two blue ones. A two piece and a one piece. "Okay so now choice from these two."

He looked them both over until he decided on the two-piece. This had a giant white Hawaiian flower over the left boob. She put the other blue one back on the rack.

"Medium? Large? Small?"

"Considering her… um… figure," he chose the words wisely. "I'll go with a medium." She handed him the one she was holding and walked around the counter. She rang him up and he gave her the bills. "Thanks Katie," she nodded and walked to customer service.

"Katie!" She turned and looked a Clara. "You forgot to put your name tag back on after your break," She looked down at her nameless red shirt. If she wasn't wearing her name tag, how did her know her name?
