A.N. The last scene with Chris and Traci really stuck out in my mind. My first thought was Leo and this short oneshot was the product of their conversation. Traci losing herself in work can have a serious impact.

"Grandma?" he asks.

"You should be in bed Leo," she replies softly.

"When's mommy gonna be home?"

Anita Nash sighs. She knew that her daughter was grieving. She knew what it was like to try to drown in work. But it was starting to harm Leo in the process. "I don't know Leo," she said finally.

"I miss mommy."

Anita gathers her grandson in a hug. "I know, I miss her too."

"It's not fair," Leo says, his voice muffled as he buries into her hug. "First Jerry dies and then Mommy disappears. She's never home anymore!"

He pulls away from his grandmother, anger blazing in his eyes. "Can I stay with Daddy?"

Anita's eyes widen in surprise. "You don't like staying with me?" she asks softly, even though she knows that he loves her, trying to stall for time to process his shocking request.

"I want Mommy to be home. She's never here and it makes you sad. Daddy loves me still."

Anita sighs again. "How about I try to talk to mommy first?" she proposes. "She still loves you." She doesn't know how Traci is going to react to the request and she doesn't want Leo around to witness it.

Leo nods. "I love you grandma." He scampers off, back to his bedroom.

Anita sighs again. She knows that Andy is back - the two girls went running this morning before shift. She would call her daughter's best friend in the morning. An intervention was needed before her daughter lost something else that was precious to her.
