Author's Note: First of all, thanks to zeldafan128 for the inspiration to write this. I know it started out as a joke but here we are with a fic that's pretty freaking shippy. Apologies for the abrupt ending, but that's where the idea fizzled out.
Disclaimer: I don't own Percy Jackson. I'm just borrowing Rick Riordan's characters and making them do stuff.
Annabeth's POV
Now that we had begun dating, Percy and I went out without the rest of our friends more often. Today's date we agreed would be us going out for ice cream together.
We were relatively new at the whole relationship thing, so I didn't know what to expect from him.
I knew Percy had a weird obsession with blue food and that the ice cream shop didn't carry blueberry, so being the considerate girlfriend that I am, I brought a bottle of blue food coloring. Thankfully we found a table in the back where the workers couldn't see what we were doing with the food coloring, since that probably wasn't allowed.
The vanilla sundae that we shared came with a cherry on top. It struck me to do a little something with it, so I faked wanting it for myself, plucked it off the whipped cream, held it between my teeth, leaned in, kissed Percy, and deposited the uneaten cherry in his mouth. If you thought he was surprised, you'd be more than correct.
"Whoa, what are you doing?" came his muffled cry.
I leaned back, crossed my arms, and retorted, "I'm being romantic!"
"..."
"..."
"I'm hopeless."
"You acknowledged it! One point." I smirked at him.
"Yay, I have one point. High score!"
After that incident, we continued our ice cream in silence.
I decided to continue the little joke.
"Point taken away."
"Aw, why?"
I didn't respond.
"My shiny point."
He was hilariously pouting by now, and I found it oddly cute.
"If you want to keep your point, you have to polish it."
"I did."
"Alright, you can keep it."
"Yay!"
Honestly, we were two kids in a candy store. In this case, ice cream shop.
Percy pretended to reach forward and grab an invisible, nonexistent point from the air. I couldn't even remember why we started that, but I admitted it was amusing.
Why was I attracted to such an idiot?
