Ahh...It didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, but here it is. It's about Remus Lupin when Harry was born and when Teddy was born. It has more of Harry than Teddy, but still...It should be okay. Please R&R. I don't mind mean reviews. In fact, I'd prefer a review that tells me what is wrong with it to one that just says that it is good. Not that I don't like nice reviews. :) And, I quote my friend Julie. "...Have...fun..." Hehe. We were in charge at a book fair this year and she had to tell everyone when they could get books if they couldn't that day. Anyway, she told them and everyone is still staring at her, so she added that. I know, I'm rambling. Please enjoy the story!

Remus Lupin, A Father

July 31st, 1981

Remus Lupin remembers a lot of things about that day, the day his best friends had a son. Lily Evans, no Potter was lying in bed, smiling at everyone, and warning James not to drop Harry James Potter.

"My mum dropped me, and look how I turned out!" James joked.

"That's exactly my point, Potter," Lily said crossly, but with a soft smile.

James turned his attention back to his son. Remus Lupin especially remembered how James was grinning. He was grinning like a lunatic as he held his son. It was the same grin he had when Lily had finally agreed to go on a date with him and it was the same grin that he had when she had told him yes, when he asked her to marry him.

He passed Harry to Sirius whom also had an identical grin. So identical, in fact, that Remus had to remind himself that they were not twins. Sirius was made godfather, just like he was best man at the wedding. He made a funny face to Harry who giggled. James then made a comment about Sirius's face sticking that way.

Sirius stuck out his tongue and passed Harry to Peter who held for about a second without looking at him and then gave him back to James. "I don't think Uncle Wormtail wants to drop him and make him end up like me either Lils," James laughed.

Remus took that moment to slip out the door to his bag that held a stuffed stag for Harry. It had been Rudolph, but with a few corrections, it looked more like Prongs. He searched for it, but then cursed his luck when the thought struck him that he had forgotten it. He straightened up and put his bag back.

"Moony?" James called, still holding Harry.

"Sorry," Remus mumbled, turning around. "I got Harry something but I think I forgot it."

"You know," James said. "I think Harry'd like to meet his Uncle Moony."

"I shouldn't," Remus said, looking away.

"Why not? Are you afraid of hurting him? Even Peter managed to not drop him."

"No James, I really shouldn't."

"Come on Moony! Why shouldn't you hold him?"

"I'm a-! You know why!" Remus spluttered.

"No way Moony! You know you're not allowed to pull the 'Furry Little Problem' card! Harry doesn't mind, do you son?"

James held him out and Remus hesitantly took him. His stomach churned. He was so little, and he looked just like James. He only had Lily's beautiful green eyes. Little Harry smiled at Remus, and he felt a wave of affection for his best mate's son.

April 1998

"Remus, you're not going to hurt him, hear?"

"Dora, I said no," Remus told her, not looking at her. Everyone around him suffered. He couldn't hurt his son, Teddy Remus Lupin.

"You're not going to hurt him," she repeated. "Here." She put Teddy into his arms.

Teddy, his son. His son. He had black hair, and he thought he looked like her, which was lucky, he thought. And Remus knew, without a doubt, that his grin was just as idiotic as James's grin had been seventeen years ago.
