Lucy Heartfilia's eyes flickered open to the sunlight shining through her window, announcing the morning. She sat up and stretched, releasing a yawn.
The teenage celestial wizard always woke up to two different mornings. Morning number one would be that she would wake up, take a nice warming bath, and get ready to head to the guild. Or, there was morning number two. She would wake up, hear snoring, hear more snoring, and turn to see Natsu, her best friend, and Happy, his best and most loving companion, sleeping next to her. She would then yell at them, and kick the shit out of them.
This morning was morning number two.
Lucy gritted her teeth, and performed her famous "Lucy Kick" on the two, sending them flying across her bedroom. Natsu hit the wall, with Happy flying in his face. Both were easily awoken, groaning. Natsu rubbed the back of his spikey head. "Lucy! Why did you have to do that?"
"Yeah, my head hurts now..." Happy complained, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
Lucy stood up, hopped off her bed and stood in front of the two, her arms crossed. "Well, maybe if you two idiots would stop breaking into my house, this wouldn't happen!"
"Well, if your bed wasn't so comfy, I wouldn't break in!" Natsu stood up, grabbing Happy in his arms. "And look what you did to Happy!"
"My poor head..." The blue exceed complained, placing a paw to his forehead.
Lucy rolled her eyes, making her way to her dresser to pull out her hairbrush. She dragged the brush down her hair, gaze locking on the two. "What are you guys doing here anyway?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Natsu smiled, his grin as wide as ever.
As if he weren't even hurt at all, Happy flew into the air. "We're going on a job!"
Lucy was about to yell at the two again when she stopped herself. These two were her greatest friends, and all they wanted was to hang out with her. Sure, they were kind of stupid, just always breaking into her apartment like that, but she couldn't help but shake her head and grin. "Fine, you weirdos. But go ahead to the guild and find a good job to do and let me get ready. I'll be there soon."
"Awesome!" Natsu exclaimed, throwing his fist into the air, grabbing Happy by the tail. "Come on, buddy! What are we waiting for?"
"Natsu, that's my tail!" Happy whined, tears all over the place.
Lucy couldn't keep her smile from getting bigger. "Those two...gotta love them."
When the celestial mage had finished getting ready, she made her way across the streets of Magnolia to the Fairy Tail Guild Hall. She opened the doors with a bright grin, happy to see all the familiar faces surrounding every corner. Erza was chatting with Cana, Mirajane, and Wendy at the bar, though Wendy wasn't old enough to drink yet, so she just had water. Carla was with them as well.
Gajeel and Panther Lily were sitting at a table with Levy, Jet and Droy, half-listening to the conversation the three were having, though Gajeel seemed to be attempting to listen to Levy. He always seemed to like her more than anyone else in the guild.
Freed was posing for Reedus so he could paint a picture of him, Laxus on the side, being completely anti-social.
Elfman and Evergreen were chatting at a table towards the back, with Lisanna joined in the conversation.
Makarov was seated on top of a table, talking to Macao and Wakaba.
So yeah, everything looked normal around the Fairy Tail Guild. Lucy loved days like this; no worries, no problems, no fights, just smiles everywhere and the laughter from her guildmates. Lucy knew life couldn't get any better than this.
Then, Lucy caught sight of Gray being thrown against the ceiling, covered in fire. He fell to the ground, groaning in pain. "Nice shot, flame-brain!" He spat as he stood up, shaking from the attack. "But i've got way better than that!"
Natsu hopped onto one of the tables, facing down at Gray. "Really? Let's see it then, ice-ass!"
"Ice Make, Spear!" Gray yelled, plunging the spear made with ice into Natsu's chest, which sent the dragon slayer flying across the hall.
Juvia was sitting at the other end of the bar, staring at the fight with hearts in her eyes. "Go, my beloved Gray!"
Lucy switched her gaze from one side of the guild hall to the other. Her and Juvia seemed to be the only ones watching what was going on. But that wasn't surprising, since fights happened all the time. It was probably best to ignore it.
She found Happy and Romeo standing beside the request board, Nab searching for a job to do. She managed to reach them without being hit by one of the fighting idiots. "Happy, I thought Natsu was going to pick a job for us to do?"
"Yeah, but that changed when Gray decided to stand in his way," Happy replied, still looking for a job.
"They never stop, do they?" Romeo sighed, watching Natsu slam into Elfman.
Elfman turned around, rage filling his glare. "Trying to act like a real man, huh?"
Natsu blinked up at him. "Uh, no not really-"
With a swing of his fist, Elfman had Natsu flying across the guild hall once again; Macao noticed.
"Hey, as the master of this guild, I command you all to sto-" He was interrupted by Natsu slamming right into him, raising his temper. "Alright, you all are gonna stop RIGHT NOW!"
Romeo cringed, holding out his hand. "Dad, don't-"
And in a flash, there were tables being thrown across the guild hall once again. More of the mages were dragged into the fight. Erza tried to resist, but ended up equipping her armor and flying into the rumble of fighting. The only mages that didn't participate were the usual: Mirajane, Carla, Wendy, Juvia and Lisanna, who were sitting at the bar watching, and Lucy, Happy and Romeo at the mission board taking cover from flying objects.
Lucy found Asuka watching from the front doors as her and her mother and father, Bisca and Alzack, arrived, shaking their heads. Their daughter was amazed and was clapping the entire time. "Go, Natsu!" She yelled, and surprisingly Natsu heard her when his head poked out from the brawl and yelled back, "Thanks a lot, Asuka!" before being pulled back into the fight by Gray's arms.
"This is ridiculous!" Lucy gritted her teeth angrily, even though she should be used to this by now. But she didn't hurry to get ready all morning for this. She reached to pull out one of her keys, but was stopped by Happy's paw.
"Lucy, you really shouldn't get involved in this!" He yelled over the commotion.
"I'm not," Her gaze turned to the cat reassuringly, "I'm getting Natsu so we can get out of here."
As she fiddled with her keys, she pulled out one of her favorites, and held it straight up in the air. Then, she chanted the words she always knew to say, "Open, Gate of the Golden Bull!" She shot the golden key forward, turning it to the side. "Taurus!"
In a flash, the giant cow appeared, staring down at Lucy. "Hellooooooo, Lucy! What can I do for youuuuuu today?" The cow began to tug at the top of Lucy's shirt.
She used her hand to slap his away. "You can stop being perverted, for one thing!" She sighed, and gave him a sweet smile. "Now, you wouldn't mind grabbing that guy for me, would you?"
Taurus's gaze followed in the direction Lucy was pointing, seeing Natsu being thrown to the ground. He turned back to her with jealousy in his eyes. "But isn't he your boyfriend?"
Lucy face-palmed herself, shaking her head. "No, Taurus! We've already been over this many times! Natsu is not my boyfriend! And even if he was, you would still have to get him anyways because I said so! So do it!" She pointed a finger sharply towards the direction Natsu was in, where he was now beating the shit out of Gray, Erza making her way up behind them and crashing their heads together.
"Very well, Luuuuuuucy!" Taurus smiled before crashing into the fight. A few seconds later, Lucy heard Erza yell: "Since when does Lucy get involved in these fights!?" As the huge cow jumped right back out, the pink-haired boy throwing his fists around in his grasp. "Hey, let me go you fat cow!"
Taurus threw Natsu to the ground in front of Lucy, giving her a wave. "There you are, my sweet Luuuuuuucy!" He then disappeared in a flash, longing to go back to the celestial world away from the fighting and yelling.
On the ground in front of her, Natsu was rubbing the back of his head, groaning with pain. "Ow, what the hell was Erza thinking?" He murmured.
"You ok, Natsu?" Romeo ran to where he was laying, Happy behind him.
"Yeah," He stood up, facing Lucy. "But I didn't need your stupid cow to save me! I was doing just fine!"
"Natsu, we need to pick out a job! I am not going to sit here and watch you fight waiting for you to be done! We are picking a job, and leaving!" Lucy grabbed his hand and pulled him over to the request board.
"Fine!" He groaned in reply, his eyes searching the board, but he kept looking back. "It's kinda hard to concentrate with them fighting, though!"
"Well, maybe you shouldn't have started it, then! Now pick a job!"
"Come on, Natsu! Anything!" Happy whined on Natsu's shoulder. "Just get us out of here!"
Natsu rolled his eyes, frustrated, and just randomly grabbed one of the papers off the board. "Fine, this one! Let's go!"
Before any of them could run off, there was a scream from the fighting. "NO!"
That scream was so loud that everyone in the brawl seemed to stop in place. As the dust from the fighting drifted away, all eyes were seen to be on the one who screamed: Panther Lily
The exceed hopped off of Gajeel, who was on top of Jet, and Droy trying to pull them apart. "You three!" He pointed his paw to Lucy, Natsu and Happy. "That job! You can't take it! Don't go!"
The guild hall was filled with confusion now, and the mages who had fought seemed to pull apart to watch the scene.
Lucy took the paper from Natsu's hands and held it out for her to view. It read: Wanted: Telema Time, for destroying Fiore's future. Given by Nashi D. Reward: 100,000,000 jewel. And in the center, there was drawn a woman with long hair, and a large jacket, covering most of her. Since the picture was all drawn in the color black, there wasn't much detail to take in.
Lucy realized she was reading the paper aloud. She looked up at Panther Lily as if he had just grown fifty tails. "You kidding!? Look at what this job is offering! 100,000,000 FREAKING JEWEL! Sorry buddy, but we have this one and there's no way we are being talked out of it!"
"Hey, good catch, Lucy!" Erza walked up to her. "You don't mind sharing when you get back, now do you?"
"Yeah, that's a lot!" Wendy called from the bar.
"Bring some back for all of us!" Elfman yelled.
The whole guild started gossiping about it, until Panther Lily flew upwards and yelled again, staring down at every one. "STOP AND LISTEN TO ME, YOU IDIOTS!"
"HEY!" Gajeel called from the crowd, crossing his arms. "I was listening!"
The exceed ignored him, and continued on. "Listen, you three," he faced Natsu, Lucy and Happy. "I'm sorry, but you can't take that job."
"And why not?" Natsu crossed his arms.
"I don't even know how that job is on our board! It should at least be on S-Class!"
"What do you mean, cat?" Gray made his way from the crowd to the front.
"What I mean is," Panther Lily took a breath, "Telema Time is a horrible, evil mage. She uses magic like no other. She has the ability to transport anyone who attacks her through time."
The exceed recieved blinks from the guild. Happy broke the silence. "What do you mean?"
"For example, say Natsu was fighting her. She could easily open a portal that will take him to whatever year she desires. And once he's there, the only way he can return to his present time is if she would be willing to take him back."
Natsu snorted. "As if."
"Wow..." Lucy couldn't help but be impressed. "That's incredible magic! Who taught her that!?"
"I'm not sure, but you have to have a lot of power to control who goes through the past, present and future."
"So, how do you know all this?" Lisanna asked, standing beside Elfman.
"Yeah," Her brother replied, "And how come you've never told us about her before?"
"I just didn't want any of you finding out! If you did, one of you crazy people would be willing to take her on, not caring whether you came back to the present again or not!" Panther Lily flew down onto the table below him, having the guild crowd around.
"It does seem pretty dangerous..." Mira murmured, staring at the paper Lucy held.
"Honestly, I agree with the cat. If any of you were to get trapped through time, who knows how long it would take you to return?" Wakaba shook his head. "Hell, what if you were to never return!?"
"Exactly," Panther Lily crossed his arms. "Which is why I don't want anyone going!"
"But..." Lucy stared down at the paper. "It says she's destroying Fiore's future...so what are we supposed to do? Just sit here because we are afraid to go on this job?"
"I agree with Lucy," Erza stepped in, "Obviously, our future is in great danger. So someone needs to go. If you three are willing to go, then i'll go through time with you if I have to."
"Really, Erza!?" Lucy smiled. "Great!"
"No! Not great at all! You can't go!" Panther Lily argued.
"You still haven't answered my question..." Lisanna walked up and stared down at the exceed. "How do you know all this?"
Panther Lily hesitated before letting out a long sigh. "Back before I joined Fairy Tail, when I lived on Edolas and before a few of you came along," He stared sharply at Natsu, Lucy, Happy, Wendy, Carla and Gajeel. "Telema Time approached us, and told us that if we didn't lend her what she wanted, she would send us to the time where we were ending our lives, and we would have to watch ourselves die, over and over again."
"Damn," Natsu raised his eyebrows. "Crazy woman."
"Well, what did she want?" Lisanna urged.
Panther Lily paused for a moment before shaking his head. "That's not important. None of you need to go."
"Well, if we don't fix the future, then we could all die." Erza took the paper from Lucy's hands and read it over again. "It says she destoryed Fiore's future, right? That must mean she went through time herself and did something to our lives in the future. If we don't fix it, things could get worse."
"I agree," Gajeel nodded, along with the rest of the guild.
The exceed who had been pleading sighed in defeat. "Very well," His gaze then locked on the four mages who were willing to go. "Just know to be careful, Telema Time is not what you think!"
Natsu chuckled. "No worries, cat! We'll be fine! Probably suffered worse! Come on Happy and Lucy!"
As the two followed him out the doors, Erza ran behind. "I'm coming along, remember?"
Gray sighed as he started walking forwards. "I go way back with them, from the moment Team Natsu was formed i've been a part of it. I should go."
"GRAY!" Juvia threw herself on top of him, sobbing. "Don't go! PLEASE!"
After a while, Gray came running up behind the group, who had started trying to figure out where the paper was wanting them to go. "Sorry guys, couldn't get Juvia off my ass."
"Oh, so you're coming too?" Natsu shook his head. "Wonderful."
"Wanna say that to my face?" Gray pushed, glaring at him and raising a fist.
"Boys!" Erza pushed herself between them. "If we are going to do this job, then there will be absolutely no fighting! Understood?"
"Understood," The two replied immediately, facing away from each other.
"Hey, guys!" Wendy's voice was heard from down the street. "I'm coming too!"
"You are!?" Lucy's eyes were wide.
"Yes, apparently." Carla shook her head worriedly. "I tried holding her back, but she resisted."
"Well, then we are all doing this together!" Erza smiled excitedly before turning her gaze back to the request in her hand, scratching her head with the other. "The question is, who is Nashi D? And how do we find her? There's no information on where she's located!"
"Yeah, now that you mention it," Natsu walked up to Erza and read the paper over again, making sure nothing was missed. "There is absolutely nothing that tells us where to go!"
"What are we gonna do!?" Happy was almost panicking.
"Calm down!" Erza yelled, smacking Happy upside the head. "I'm sure there's some way we can-"
She paused as something straight ahead caught her eye. Her guildmates eyes followed where her's was staring. Up ahead on the street, stood a familiar figure. It was a woman. She wore a huge, purple and black coat that covered every single inch of her except her face. The woman was floating, and her dark, purple eyes were staring at the group blankly. Her long, black hair flowed in the wind, and she grinned with her black lipstick filling her smile. Instantly, Erza gasped, and forced her head down onto the drawing that laid on the paper. It was her. It was Telema Time.
"Guys!" Erza ran after the woman. "It's her! Telema Time! After her!"
The group gasped when the woman jumped up, flying over Erza and in front of the others. "Finally, you found the request I laid out..." She spoke in a dark voice.
"It was a trap!?" Wendy panicked. "She laid out the request so we would take it!"
"Exactly," Telema chuckled, "You fools now know that I have huge plans for the future, so you know where you'll be headed. Although, it seems that there's just a bit too much of you..."
Carla raised an eyebrow from Wendy's shoulder. "Whatever do you mean-"
The group cried out as Telema threw her huge coat in the air and whipped it towards them, sending some of the group flying. The only one's who weren't affected by her attack were Natsu and Lucy, to everyone's shock.
Telema pointed to the two that were still standing. "Unfortunately, I only need these two."
"You...need us!?" Lucy cried out. "For what!?"
"Yeah lady, explain yourself for hurting my friends!" Natsu threw his fist in the air, fire merging from it. "Fire Dragon Iron Fi-"
In an instant, Telema blew out a whiff of air, and all of Natsu's fire blew out. He jumped back in surprise, staring at his hand, and then her. "What the hell!? Did you just blow out my fire!?"
"Well, a better way to put it would be that I transported your fire to the past. We'll just say that was one of your failed training attacks when you were training with Igneel."
Natsu blinked. "What!?"
"That does it! What do you want?" Lucy began to pull out her keys.
Telema raised her hands. "Oh please, there's no need for those!" She snapped her fingers and Lucy's keys disappeared.
"What!?" Lucy looked around, in full panic mode now. "Great! Aquarius is going to so kill me!"
"Now," Telema began to rise into the hair, waving her hand around in a circle to form a large, black portal. "There's no time to waste! Both of you in here, now!"
Before any of them could respond, Natsu and Lucy both were thrown into the dark hole by Telema's magic.
"NATSU! LUCY!" The group screamed.
Erza was still behind Telema, glaring at her with hatred. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO OUR FRIENDS!?"
"Oh, no worries!" Telema grinned evily, entering the portal and closing it. "They are exactly where they need to be!"
Everyone else who had been in the group besides Natsu and Lucy just stared, mouths wide open with the shock that they may have just lost the two forever.
Hello everyone! So this is just another nalu story, i've actually had this idea for quite a while, just finally putting some work into it! Feel free to write a review! :)
