Celebration of Oban

Another day. But this day they wont race. This day is a 'party', as Eva would call it. And what a hell of a party.

Family is about to come. And then you had the other point; which family of Eva?

Her family was already here, she could not tell.

She didn't had to invite anyone, and she told Satis clearly, without any further explanation. Even with a look of don't-even-dare-to-ask-why.

Maybe she isn't going anyway. Why would she. What in the world did she had to do there? Meeting her friends' family?

Seeing how Jordan's mother adores him?

Yuck.

She preferred sleeping in place of that. Or wandering around. Who knows where they would be tomorrow night.

Maybe somewhere exotic. Maybe somewhere boring. Whatever, she's not going!

The others of the team where soon ready to go, when I still sat on the fillet of the module, with her normal clothes on. She felt someone coming near her, and was about to stand up in case it was her dad.

Nope, it wasn't.

"Why aren't you coming with us?" Jordan's voice sounded oh so brotherly in the air.

Eva didn't bothered to turn her head. He still knew her as Molly. Everyone did.

"I have no use there." She softly responded.

"Why not? Isn't your family coming?"

Hm.. that was a hard question. It made her eyes getting warm. But she could only say one sentence to keep it non-telling or non-lying.

"I don't have a family." And it was true.

Jordan kept silent for a while. He didn't felt quit comfortable with this situation.

He never was a talker. He wasn't good in it to. But he should try. "Why wont you just come with us? You don't need a family for fun.." He tried to convince her.

Eva smiled at his tries. Truly, he was sweet.

"No, thanks."

Everything was silent now. The team-mates had left to the party. Oh what the hell. With 1 minute she got dressed nice and walked out of the module, making sure to come in without anyone noticing.

When she made it, she quickly joined the Earth-Team. Family arrived already, and everyone had settled down, but Stan and Koji truly didn't had a family and support each other. Don Wei stood with them as well. Only Jordan was with his family.

And what a family.

A sweet mother, a big protective brother and a adorable sister. She also took a glance to Aikka's family.

Though she heard that his parents couldn't make it, he did recognized (of Aikka's telling) a boy about 20 years what must be his older brother, and a little girl about 7, and a woman who smiled warmly at them all, knowing that it is his aunt.

After some talking with Don Wei, Eva found herself walking to Jordan. Jordan looked up, as his little sister clenched herself on Eva's leg. "Uhm.. okay.." Eva said confused to the kiddo. She looked up again. "Jordan, thanks for before." She said smiling. Jordan nodded to her.

It was already getting late, and because Eva had 'amused' herself enough to her willing now, she went outside to get a break. Surprisingly enough, Don Wei stood there to.

What a surprise.

"Evening, sir."

Don only nodded to her, in a response.

They stood there for a while, just looking at the sky. Though silences where never nice to Eva, this one was rather comfortable. Don suddenly turned to her.

"I guess you and Jordan should go back to the module, to get some sleep."

Eva nodded. "I guess so."

"Where's your family Molly?" He asked to, confused about the sadness of the girl.

What should she say. If she said she had no family, no doubt he would ask further. She could say they wouldn't come, but her face would be to red.

There's only one decision.

It had to come out sometimes.

"My family.." She sighed.

"My family.. is standing right before me."
