"Come on, Adam, you can do it!" Blaine claps his hands in front of him and holds his arms out, hoping his son will fall into them. Adam stands hesitantly and wobbles for a few seconds before becoming unbalanced and falling forward. He starts crawling to Blaine instead. Blaine laughs and catches him and moves him back over to where he started.
Kurt watches on from his place in the kitchen, laughing quietly to himself.
Blaine ignored Kurt's words and tried again. "C'mon, baby, come to Daddy!"
Kurt rolled his eyes. His husband was ridiculous.
"We should bribe him," Blaine exclaims, finally getting up and searching through the pantry and cabnits.
"What are you doing?"
"Looking for cheerios, bananas, chocolate, hell anything; I just want that kid to walk!"
"He's only nine months, babe, he's not going to magically start walking," Kurt sighed, but set down his coffee cup anyways and walked down the hallway towards the nursery. He leaned over the edge of the crib and snatched up Adam's favorite stuffed animal, a Dumbo plush that Carole had sent up to them when her and Burt went to Disneyland a few months ago. He folded it over his forearm and turned the light back off as he left the room.
He picked his coffee back up from the island and sat down on the floor a few feet away from Adam. He started dangling the plush by it's ear in front of his son. "Come on, Adam! Look, it's your favorite," Kurt tried.
Adam just stared at him dumbly so Kurt moved the stuffed animal in front of his face and started talking to him in a high pitched voice, trying to egg Adam on. Soon Adam started giggling and pushed himself back up onto his feet. Kurt peeked out from over the edge of one of Dumbo's ears to watch him. He wobbled in place for a few moments before carefully moving one foot in front of the other. Kurt gasped and held out his arms, waiting to catch Adam.
"Blaine! Baby, come here," Kurt shouted excidtedly and stood up.
Blaine came rushing in from the kitchen to see Adam's concentrated face set on Kurt's. He let out a small squeak and clamped his hand over his mouth. "Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God," he started muttering happily and ran off to go hunt for the video camera.
By the time he came back he saw Kurt hesitantly backing away from Adam to keep him moving. He turned on the camera and got about ten seconds worth of footage before Adam started to lose his balance. Kurt quickly scooped Adam up in his arms and started smothering his face in kisses.
Blaine cheered and set the camera down on the table, moving over to his family in the center of the living room. "Great job, buddy," he commended.
Adam smiled and started squirming in Kurt's arm, holding his arms out for Blaine. Kurt handed him off and walked back over to the counter.
"What are you doing," Blaine asks when he saw Kurt move their wedding picture to the top shelf.
"He can walk now- it's only a matter of time before something gets broken."
