Hello, everyone! I just deleted my story 'A Galaxy Upside Down (and far, far away) because I decided I needed to delete one because of my schedule, so as an 'I'm sorry' present I wrote this.
Enjoy!
Gently and hesitantly Luke pulled off Anakin's mask. Within seconds he could feel the effect of not wearing the mask. It was a struggle to breath without it, but what did it matter? He was dying anyways.
Anakin looked at his son and he marveled how much he reminded him of himself as a child. Not necessarily in looks, but in the spirit. Here was Luke, a young naïve boy whose life was ruined by war and strife. Not so different from himself, though by the time he was Luke's age, he had already been on the path to the darkside.
In Luke Anakin saw all he could have been, and all he should have been. He saw the same lust for adventure and the compassion in his soft blue eyes. He saw the kindness of a farm boy, and the self-control and bravery of a true Jedi Knight.
He saw the heart of his Padme, oh, she would have been so proud of Luke. He saw his own stubbornness and conviction. He saw it all in this boy, in his son, who would become so much more with his own eyes.
