For the Drabble Game Challenge, BashKenna, artist!au, requested by Danie. First time writing for the fandom, but I hope to write more in the future. I'm also always open to fic requests. Just send me a PM.
She is gone, but her face still surrounds him. Renderings in oil, acrylic, watercolor. Her mischievous smile seems to mock him from the canvases that line his studio.
He had painted her so beautifully, so perfectly, as the angel he had believed her to be.
Bash can still feel his heart tearing apart in his chest. Kenna had been no angel, after all. She had come to him, begging him to be married in hopes of hiding the pregnancy from her infidelity.
With a groan, he grabs his brush, dipping it in black paint. There is no elegance or grace behind the brushstrokes now. His limbs move wildly, like a madman as he blackens the canvases, erasing months of hard work and care.
And then she is gone. No more traces of her to haunt her in his studio.
He had thought that maybe he would be able to breathe again, but as he looks at the destruction around him, Bash feels more hopeless than ever.
