Hermione Granger and her good friend Ron Weasley were standing next to the common room's door. They were wearing their winter clothes in order to brave the snow storm outside.
"We're going Harry!" called the bushy haired girl to a dark haired boy sprawled on one of the sofas.
The raven haired teen raised his head from the book he was reading.
"Going where?" he asked.
His two friends gave him a blank look.
"To Hogsmeade, Harry. It's a Hogsmeade weekend." said Hermione slowly.
The raven haired boy frowned.
"Well, you should have told me!" he said in an offended tone.
"It was written on the notice board for the past two weeks, it was impossible not to see it." said Hermione a bit impatiently.
"Well, I didn't see it!" protested Harry.
"Probably because you were too busy ruining Colin's Charm homework…" muttered Ron.
"Oh, so it's Colin's fault now is it?" said the raven haired boy crossing his arms on his chest.
"No, it's yours actually, mate." said Ron matter-of-factly.
"Wait did you say 'ruin'?" said Harry not listening to the red haired boy. "I'd let you know that I was actually helping him with his homework…"
Hermione coughed loudly.
"Yes, helping! Meaning you were just telling him some nonsense to write on a piece of parchment, that Professor Flitwick wouldn't even bother correcting!" she said.
The raven haired boy huffed indignantly.
"Why aren't I invited to come anyway?" he asked pouting.
His two friends exchanged a glance and Hermione sighed heavily.
"Harry, don't you have detention with Snape today?" asked Hermione as calmly as she could.
The raven haired boy looked alarmed.
"Do I?" he asked before looking thoughtful. "Whatever for, I wonder…"
Ron snorted.
"Yeah, we sure wonder!" he said sarcastically. "Especially since you didn't manage to blow up the Potions lab by causing a chain reaction with the cauldrons."
"I'm such a genius aren't I?" said Harry proudly.
"Well since you're such a genius, I'm sure you'll think of something to make the detention more enjoyable." said Hermione briskly. "Now if you don't mind, Ron and I will be on our way."
She grabbed the red haired boy's arm and dragged him out of the room.
"Wait I do mind!" called Harry behind them.
Hermione ignored him and walked out of the portrait hole.
"I'll never talk to you again!" came Harry's voice as the portrait slid over the hole.
"Well, isn't that a blessing?" said Ron joyfully as he and his girlfriend walked down the stairs.
