Title: Rewarding a (his) Hero

Author: OpheliacAngel

Characters: Dean & Sam

Genre: Family/Hurt/Comfort

Summary: EO Drabble Challenge: Slip: Double drabble! Dean's hurt and Sam feels at a loss, but he quickly figures out something he can do for his awesome big brother. Set during Season 1.

A/N: This is written for Dizzo, whose birthday is today and she has requested a hurt, happy, etc. Dean. Not to mention it's also my birthday and considering we have the same interests: a hurt yet heroic Dean Winchester, I just had to make it a double drabble. Yeah, I know… my excuses for double drabbles *grins*. So I hope you're having a great birthday Dizzo and I really hope that you enjoy this.

Dean was hurting and he couldn't stop it.

The concussion from when he slipped in the mud and hit a tombstone in a dizzying flash, courtesy of the werewolf hunt, mixed with the tough job of recovering from pneumonia was wearing him into the ground. Sam should have known better than to let him leave the bed, Dean wanted to play the hero though.

But at least he could be an amazing little brother and try to do something nice for him while he was down for the count, not to mention miserable.

So he went to the store while he rested, bought him pie, a brand new led Zeppelin tee as a replacement for his torn and bloodied one, and wore a huge grin upon his face as he snuck back into the room and rewarded a disoriented Dean.

The sudden smile on his face was worth him getting hurt, worth Sam staying to be with his awesome big brother who still remained his lifelong hero.

Dean was worth it all.

Although hitting him hard on the head with the remote and calling him a nerd for reading to him to help him fall asleep was none too appreciated.
