A quick holiday drabble because you see, the holiday season has just officially begun! Its done all at once and not as well proofed as it should be but I still like it. A little more fluffy then I intended.
Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. Norman Vincent Peale
The tall teenager strolled down the snowy lane wearing a black trench coat with a black hat. He had gone home for the holidays this year. He seemed on the verge on the brake down but yet completely calm. This boy with this tragic life was at a point of change. The cross roads of his destiny. He had two options. To become a death eater, or to do the exact opposite. Fight against them.
The two sides, good and evil, yin and yang. The tall boy walked into the café. He had matured and become better looking over the past few months. His greasy exterior started to fade by the day and he did leave his death eater friends. He was actually doing much better. His mom finally left Tobias and took Severus with her. They moved away from Spinners end but not too far off. His mother was unstable though, but not as unstable as she was when she was with Tobias.
The café was empty except for an old couple and a younger couple. The younger couple caught his eye. The girl was average sized with brown hair and brown eyes. She was very simple and looked artsy. The boy was also tall and average sized. He had long blond hair and blue eyes. He wasn't particularly have anything about him that was astonishing but they had a genuine happiness to them. They were both so average and they looked like they were having the time of their lives just sitting their drinking their coffee. He wanted that, all he wanted was happiness.
He walked up to the counter and ordered a small cup of un-caffeinated coffee. He sat in the small corner table and just well, sat there. As good as things had gotten, he had nothing going for him. Lately lily had been a little distant and obviously the murderers were taking advantage of this little set back.
The snow was not falling more then it had been before. He sat as the hands on the clock rotated endlessly and his coffee in his cup seemed to decrease as the time passed. The old couple left as the clock struck ten but the young couple still sat talking a lot about well…nothing.
Then the one person he had been waiting for had walked into the small café. The red-head pulled up a chair next to him and they just talked. They shared the first real conversation that they had had in months. The night was lovely. The bright white contrast on the black night. When the café closed the two walked down the cold lonely sidewalk until they reached lily's house.
"So I guess I better go." she said quietly.
"I guess you should…"Severus said shifting his weight from one foot to the other awkwardly.
"ill see you again before school right?" she asked.
"Yes, I'm sure of it" he said.
"well I guess good night until then"
"good night" he said as she opened the door. She stopped then stepped back to him for a second and planted a small kiss on the end of his nose.
"Happy holidays" she smiled and walked back inside. Severus smiled and walked back to the place that he could finally call a home. As he realized that the holidays really do bring out that beauty in everything.
