Chapter One : Holy Crap!

I ran giddily through the forest on the outskirts of La Push; toward where I knew Jacob Black and his friends would be. The underbrush was flying by, blurring in my peripherals. When I scented wolves, I glanced up briefly, jumping onto a tree branch. As I peered out into the small patch of flat land, I briefly scanned the area, not really focusing anything in particular. It was a beautiful place.

Jacob and his friends sat in a circle; most idly chit-chatting, and bellowing with laughter.

Except for Jacob. His body was tense. My senses began to try and tell me something, but my anticipation gripped me firmly and I couldn't think past the adrenaline. His head whipped around and his eyes bore straight into mine. His body began to vibrate violently.

A wave of fear cut through my giddiness. Why would he be shaking? I had no idea. But the moment I met his eyes, I felt something grab me and roughly yank me down off the branch and drag me out into the open.

As I fell I noticed Quil's blurry, angry face. The wind flew out my chest as I hit the ground, with him on top restraining me. He had me pinned to the ground underneath him. A growl ripped through his chest. He started shaking and damn was he hot! And not just to the eyes. His skin felt hotter than any fever I've ever had! A good one-oh-five if you asked me.

"Stop" Someone said. Quil got up, pulling me with him and grabbing me by my wrists, slinging them behind my back. He clasped my wrists in his hands.

I was turned to see a kid, or man, named Sam. I only knew most of their first names, the exception being Jacob.

I didn't know what to do, so I just stared at him. The stench of my fear permeated through the air.

"Why have you come, filthy Bloodsucker." Sam said in a dark, threatening tone. I, on the other hand, had no idea in hell what he was talking about. Bloodsucker? What the fuck is a Bloodsucker? I opened my mouth to ask, but closed it instantly. I didn't want to die here because of utter stupidity. My mind was racing... how do I explain myself?

"Speak!" He boomed. It made me jump. I thought for a moment, I could ask, and die trying; but should I? I didn't know. I didn't need to glance around to know I was extremely outnumbered, though I was hoping it didn't come to fighting. So, as I always do, I decided to wing it.

"Um...no means to offend, but what is a Bloodsucker?" I asked, my voice too fruitful for my own good. Sam scowled at me, eyes burning. Jacob growled somewhere beyond him, and Quil's grip tightened. The other people in the clearing seemed to be just as ticked off as they were.

"Don't toy with us. Why are you spying on us, Bloodsucker" Again, bitter. I took a risk, I started pleading. "I don't know what a Bloodsucker is, but I'll tell you this. I liked to watch you all talk, and mostly I have an interest in Jacob Black." That sounded super stalker-ish... but it was true. I felt my self blush and look carefully, fearfully, into Sam's eyes.

Sam only scowled again. Jacob moved into my view and started shaking violently, his breathing heavy. He was scaring me; as did many others, including Sam, in the clearing who were all doing it too. "What the hell kind of...Vampire...has a crush on a Werewolf?!" Sam shouted this time.

Vampire? Werewolves, they were like me...only...

"W-what?!" I said, slightly angry. How dare they call kin an enemy! And it was not a crush I had on Jacob... that's disgusting...

"Answer!" Suddenly I heard Jacob's angry, spiteful, tone. I could feel Quil shaking behind me. I closed my eyes, and let go of that other side of me; my wolf. I opened my eyes to meet Sam's. I think I heard him gasp. Or it could have been a growl? I knew why. My eyes where silver, like the moon. Wolf eyes in a human face. The light grey sparkling in iridescence.

"What the hell are you?" Sam asked, unnerved.

"What do you think! A vampire?! Hell no! I am practically your; Jacobs, kin!" I spit out. Crazy how literal that actually was. All the shaking stopped. Sam, Quil, and Jacob - everyone staring at me. Sam's eyes seemed to keel over into severe rage. Then I heard a ripping sound. A sharp ripping of fabric. And I saw a giant ball of russet colored fur and unsheathed claws fling out at me. I could have dodged it, but Quil's iron grip made it difficult.

The claws met skin. Mine - shit. I felt the heat rumbling in my chest, and it formed into a venomous growl. Now. I. Was. Pissed. He wanted a fight, well he found it. Family or not. A burning sensation ran through my body, from my core out to my limbs, as I began to shift. My change was very graceful. Like ruffling feathers. One minute I'm human, and the next I'm a wolf.

My fur was white, it matched the color of my moon-washed hair. It bled over my body from head to the tail I grew while my bones quickly reformed. I broke Quil's hold and pushed off his chest with my hind legs. Jacob had dodged to my side, so I flew off Quil and jumped on Jacobs back in a flash. He seemed shocked into stillness. A temporary pause, but it was all I needed. I clawed his back to shreds, growling and snarling. I wasn't out to kill, just pissed. He tried to roll around and fling me off; even crushed me against a tree. I yelped and knew I was going to have a huge bruise on my side after this. I fell off his back and he staggered away and collapsed with a thud.

I got to my feet and shook myself with a small grimace. Shit. Me and my temper. Though, I wouldn't deny my small hint of satisfaction that I won the fight. I changed back, just as fast as I turned into a wolf. Still dressed, lucky me. Not really luck, but I was gifted with a bit of my own magick as well.

Sam ran over to Jacob who seemed to not be able to change back at the time. The a few came with him, but most stayed a short distance behind, looking at me with everything from disgust, to a little encouragement. I improvised. I walked over to Jacob and, even with the hateful and confused looks, I healed him. I touched him on the nose, feeling a warm heat rise in my belly and make me close my eyes; and he changed back. Then, I touched his few wounds, closing them as I went along. I stood, in the shocked silence, and left in a flourish. A few of them even called out to me. I wasn't sure, but I was hoping one was Jacob. Till next we meet, Jacob Black-Big brother.

UPDATE 7/23/13

I have just gone through and made a few changes - not to the story line, but just adding a few more details and catching any typo's I could find. I hope it's a little LESS confusing, and a little MORE entertaining.

Thank you so much my readers!
