A/N: short I know but it's a symbol of how quickly some things can happen.
Tires skidding. That was the last thing she heard as rubber slid along slick pavement.
Humid air. The last thing she tasted as she inhaled so quickly in shock and surprise.
Bright lights. That was the last sight
she viewed on this earth. As they came speeding towards her.
Rain, the last thing she touched as her body was smashed against the trucks grille.
These were the last things Cat Valentine experienced before a ton of dripping wet metal and rust sent the tiny 5'2" redhead flying across the raining intersection.
But last things are not always the most important.
*ping* The second last sound she heard. She loved that sound, yes, it signified that she could walk across the road safely but it was also just such a bubbly sound, and Cat loved it.
Her tropical mango lipgloss. The second last taste she registered. She was planning on sharing it in a kiss that would never come.
Jade West, the second last thing she saw. Across the street at the coffee shop they had met at every Sunday for seven years now. Jade West, the one who would never know the taste of that mango lipgloss.
Forget me nots, the second last thing she touched as she held them close to her tiny form. The flowers that were going to be a present for the dark haired girl, in case anything were to happen to her.
Joy. The last thing the little bright haired girl had time to feel. It was so over powering. All at the thought of asking that question that everyone wishes they will have a part in some day.
"Will you marry me?"
