Estella sat down in the arm chair by the window of her room. Next to the arm chair was a long, short legged table that came up to her knees. It may have been short, but it was sturdy enough to hold the large metle cage on top of it. In the cage, full of straw to make the inhabitor more comfortable, was a food dish and a water bottle attatched to the side of it. And underneath a pink plastic hamster dome, A little brown rabbit layed down in the straw.
Estella smiled at the little creature and opened the cage to pick him up. She lifted the plastic dome and, despite it's protest, picked up the rabbit. The small animal calmed down and stilled when he felt her gentle hand rub his back soothingly and placed him in her lap. The little bunny cuddled up to her as she continued to gently pet it.
The blonde girl had one hand under him incase he tried to get away from her and the other she used to stroke the soft fur of his hairy back. For a while, she sat in silence, just admiring the little thing for it's cuteness, But after the rabbit fell asleep, she shoped petting him and turned her gaze out the window. She used her free hand the rest her chin in her palm. Estella ignored the fact that her hand now smelled of animal and stared out the window at nothing in particular.
She began to think of how she got the brown rabbit that now rested in her lap. She remembered that this was the one out of the twenty six baby bunnies she had not killed that day. The day her life was saved by that simple peasant boy. The boy that she torture and made fun of everyday but still loved her anyway. Yes, Pip, the humble and kind blacksmith apprentice she used to play with.
That is, until he moved away.
Yes, he moved to America since his sister didn't want him anymore, so she put him up for adoption and some family in America adopted him.
He had to leave England, his friends, what was left of his family and Estella. Leaving her was the hardest part. He loved her so much. When time came for him to leave, Estella didn't even bat an eye for him. On the outside, she seemed like she didn't give a damn, but on the inside, her heart was torn to shreads about the whole thing. She thought she didn't have a heart, but when this little blond boy came into her life, he showed her that she truly did have positive feelings deep inside her and that she really did have a heart.
As a parting gift, Pip gave Estella the rabbit. Usally, he kept it away from her incase she got the urge to kill yet another poor bunny. But when time came to leave the blonde girl, he thought that she could find it in her heart not to kill her little parting gift. fortunatley for the rabbit, Estella had found him to cute to kill, so she kept him as her pet.
And, though she kept this to herself, she also kept it as a reminder of her kind little blond boy.
The blonde smiled warmly and glanced back down at the creature in her lap. She pet him again, waking him up. She quietly apologized for disturbing his slumber and began to sooth him back to sleep. She remembered how she came up with the rabbits name."Good night, my little Pippy." She said, picking him up and placing him back in his cage. But not befor placing a small kiss between his ears.
She smiled one last time at her little Pippy befor turning away to get to bed herself. Perhaps she'll dream of the good old days when Pip was still with her and they would once again play together in the gardan as they once did when they were children.
