Reign
By SMYGO4EVA
Watanuki never thought twice about his place in the world he lived today, if he really existed of if he was just a replacement for someone else because of their chosen destiny. He never thought about that until he saw the world for what it really was.
The world that he saw before he met the Dimensional Witch was just unreal, silent, and synthetic. The world seemed to be an illusion that nothing out of this world could ever exist except in his eyes. She saw what was beyond his understanding, her knowledge surpassing what he knew, as she was no one of this world, but from all dimensions. She was one who possessed power that couldn't be understood by just sight and just seeing.
She was almost like a ruler in her knowledge and in her power, almost like a queen; there was bound to be.
Sometimes Watanuki had thought that he was a subject under her, though he was mostly treated as a lowly servant under her tyrannical rule, but he had felt as if he was ruled by her, almost guided by her, like a ruler would do for their subjects. Yes, he was her subject as she was his queen, in regal clothing, lavish and svelte alike, and she had a place in the throne called the shop, the shop where wishes were granted.
The echoes of her footsteps in a corridor became an endless abyss of nothingness when she was gone. He was lost, life absent in a place where hope has long-since died, where wishes could not possibly be granted in her absence. There was a price to pay to save the ones who were predestined, and she paid that price.
He saw what the shop had become; only lost without her presence, and unshed tears were soon flooding the eyes of those closest, even when her memory was not recognized. He knew that there was someone to take her place, someone who knew her the most, someone who would take her place until her long-awaited return from the bidding afterlife.
He knew, he knew…...
In the absence of a queen, a king would sit upon the throne….
He would take her place until her return.
