"I just wish I could understand. I was always so in control; Control of my team, my city and myself, until now." The wind picking up pulls Robin of his trance like thought process, brutally forcing him back to reality. "They're gone, gone for good and I did nothing to stop it because I was too blind to see. Maybe I didn't want to. Maybe part of me wanted them dead, so sick twisted part of me. All the wasted hours, I never even began to consider how short life can be. I could have saved them; they trusted me to be there for them." Stepping up onto the ledge of the rooftop Robin glances down at the jagged rocks below. "I should be afraid, I want to be afraid but I'm not. I have no reason to be. I never did fear for myself but for others. With my team dead I have no reason to be afraid and no reason to live. I'm almost glad they're dead." Turning his back to the rocks below Robin paused. "It's almost funny I never would have guessed this of all places is where it would end."

Robin plummets downward, a smile cemented to his face. "At least no villain will get the satisfaction of killing me." A sudden flash of red and black from the watery shadows rushes forward jarring the falling hero's straight drop. Landing on soft sand a single tear rolls down Robin's face. "I have spent all of my life working to try and please everyone else, why can't at least my end be selfish?" "Now don't be like that little bird." Looking up, tear stained skin glistening in the moonlight Robin whispers, "Red X." Jumping up in a fit of blind rage Robin lunges towards Red X screaming "Why wouldn't you just let me die? After everything you would be an idiot not to hate me; are you just forcing me to stay alive out of spite?" With a graceful leap Red X easily dodges Robin's tactless advance. "Now Birdboy have you forgotten? I have nothing against you as long as you don't get in my way and I get what I want. I don't do anything that doesn't benefit me." "Then why would you possibly think to try and save me?" With a sly grin Red X makes a quick dash towards Robin but stopping but inches away, "Because little bird what I want is you." In one fluent motion Red X grabbed Robin's chin and kissed him chastely on the lips, disappearing in to the thick shadow before Robin had time to react or even process what had just happened. Falling back on to the sandy shore Robin sat, blankly staring at the water. "Why did I have to like that stupid kiss? It would have been so simple just to die, affection just complicates things. I can deal with anything or anyone, just not this..."
