Agent Smith Returns

Disclaimer: No I do not own any Matrix characters.

"The war is over! The war is over!" that's all everyone ever heard at the temple gathering. What no one saw, was Lance, a member of Niobe's crew. Lance was sent earlier on a mission to consult the Oracle about the war. It was normal for someone to enter a door and disappear, for they all knew that it lead to the back doors. When Lance went to the next charted spot, he declared he couldn't find the Oracle, and was forced to exit the Matrix.

Everyone said he looked a little green afterward, but only he knew what happened: he had a run-in with Agent Smith. Smith knew that Mr. Anderson might be able to defeat him in the Matrix, and that Mr. Anderson would just escape to the real world. Smith had to act.

Bane wasn't the initial target at the time, but it was the best he had at the time. Smith needed someone in the real world to keep an eye on who else would be in a good position to destroy Zion. Bane knew that Lance was waiting for an assignment, and knew about the back doors. All that was needed was for Lance to enter the back doors, and Smith would re-write his code and turn him into an Agent.

After the mission, Lance "decided" that he needed to rest in Zion for a while, biding his time. When everyone was celebrating, Lance secretly got onto the Hammer and went into the Matrix.

There was one person who needed to be taken out of the way first. Lance made his way towards the Oracle, Seraph, and the little girl.

"Seraph, I would like to talk to you personally." Lance said. Seraph agreed, and they walked towards the city. After a while Lance stopped, and said, "I remember chasing you was like chasing a ghost." Seraph's eyes widened with fear. "You…you can't be back. Neo killed you. It isn't possible!" suddenly Smith's hand lunged into Seraph's chest. Black liquid started to writhe all over Seraph's body. Lance said three words, "Smith will suffice."

The liquid completely covered Seraph. Where there was one Smith, there were now two. Lance and Smith then had the same thoughts. If Seraph was out of the way, no one was protecting the Oracle. With a smile on both their faces, Lance and Smith calmly headed back to the Oracle. Smith was back and nothing could stop him now.
