Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Poter or Luna Lovegood, but I'm still pretty cool :D!
Not many people had ever particularly liked rain, although she was one of the few that did.
It's was beautiful. The way the clouds would roll into the sky and it would slowly turn into a beautiful yet haunting shade of grey. The way the water falling from the sky just sent a feeling of peace through you. It was all very calming.
It was one of those things that you had to take a closer look at. Like her. She could relate to the rain. It sounded silly, but when had she ever cared about something like that?
Whenever there was a rainstorm she would go up to the astronomy tower where no one would ever be. She would just sit and listen to the rain and thunder. She watched the clouds roll in and the sky turn that color of grey and she watched the raindrops fall in that peaceful way.
It made her think of her mother.
She missed her mother, oh how she missed her. Sometimes when she was watching the rain in the astronomy tower she would just think of her mother and all of the memories along with her. Her mother had loved the rain as well. Once, when Luna was very young, there was a huge rainstorm. Her father was away looking for a Crumple- Horned Snorkack and so it was just she and her mother. They had gone to a high hill near the house with a large tree at the very top of the hill. They had sat under that tree for hours just talking and watching the rain.
Rain was why she loved London. It rained so often there that even a sunny summer day could turn into a cloudy one. Not that she minded. She didn't mind at all. Because after all;
she did love the rain.
Rain was an odd thing by itself. But then again she was too.
Whenever she sat in the astronomy watching the rain, thinking of her mother she would wonder how all of the water was consumed in the clouds and how it all came pouring out. Such funny things happened in nature without people giving them a second thought. It just seemed so normal to them that they would never even second guess it, though she second guessed it. She did that a lot. Which might have been one of the many reasons that people found her odd.
She knew what they thought of her, and how they acted around her. They just didn't see things the way she saw them. And that was fine for her, but apparently not for them.
The truth was she didn't care what they thought of her. It didn't affect who she was and she shouldn't let it.
So if she liked the rain then that was fine. It was a pretty odd thing, just like her.
AN: I am one of those people that really loves the rain and I wrote this when it was raining outside :). I rains a lot where I live so I think it was about time I wrote about rain. And Luna's just awesome! Thank you!
