The 61 Days of Sugar

The Many Adventures of Rory Flanagan and Sugar Motta

Chapter One:

The click of her hot pink high heels clapping against the infamous linoleum floor of McKinley High School, Sugar waved off the rest of her family members, her eyes scurrying around. High school graduation had come faster than anticipated and now Glee club was officially over. Looking up and down the long hallway, it was a weird feeling that she would never be returning, that she wouldn't be back next fall for another round. It left her numb, to a sense, but she soon realized that one thing would make her feel better. She'd seen him from a far only briefly during the ceremony, but Sugar hadn't been able to find him after that. Her family had all gone home, a small party was being held for her, which really meant it was going to be the block party of the century, but she didn't want to end her last moments at McKinley without the one person that had made her high school memories worthwhile. However, as if he had been looking for her too, Sugar's eyes soon found her blue eyed best friend, coming around the corner. He looked just as frantic as she had, a huge grin growing over his dimpled face. Rory Flanagan, in all his Irish glory, walked up to her as if it was a normal day of class. He was wearing the usual red cap and gown for men, while she was wearing all white, except for her infamous pink heels. No time to hesitant, Rory scooped Sugar up into their infamous hug, a small giggle releasing from her chest as he did so. They had really done it. They had graduated high school and now had the rest of the world dangling at their reach. Sugar sighed at the though, grazing a thumb lightly over her back.

"Where have you been, Ireland?"

"I was talking to Finn and Mr. Schuester. They all came for the ceremony. Brittany and Santana too. I was surprised not to have a potato or something thrown at me by Santana, but she was surprisingly nice, 'ya know?"

Sugar nodded, letting him go from their long embrace and landing back on her feet.

"This is weird, isn't it? This is really the end isn't it?"

Sugar's eyes started to drop sadly to the floor, cursing herself for getting emotional. Rory took her hand quickly, shaking his head.

"Wait, don't. I was gonna wait and give this to you at your party, but I think this'll make ya feel better."

Rory pulled up his gown to reach into his suit pocket, pulling out what seemed to be a very large piece of paper. Handing it over to her, Rory grinned as she began to open it.

"It's a ticket. You're comin' to Ireland with me for the summer."

Sugar looked up from the words on the paper to look at Rory curiously. Her heart fluttering, she cocked her head to the side.

"But, my dad.."

"I already talked to him. Granted, he let me know what would happen to me if ya were harmed. He said yes, though. We leave in a week. That is, if ya wanna go?"

Before he could get the last words, Sugar squealed, jumping up and wrapped her small arms around his bulky neck. She began to laugh, his laughing joined in shortly after hers knowing her answer almost immediately.

"This is gonna be so much fun! I've never been on a plane or out of the country! Are you sure this is okay?"

"Of course. I want to show ya Dublin. You'll love it."
