I do not own Overlord. That of course belongs to Kugane Maruyama. Or any other I.P that may be found in this fic. This is just for fun, no profit is being made in any way. Use my ideas, OCs, items, abilities and classes if you want. I don't really mind.

OVERLORD – LUCIFER

Welcome back Lucyfer. The words he had seen many times prior greet him to the world of Yggdrasil once more.

Dennis Langley, better known by Lucyfer in game (he was not fast enough to get Lucifer, sadly) appeared as an imposing man with an air of power around him (that may just be visual effects… who knows?). He had blood red irises, a feature thought only to be available to vampires, which he could change to any colour he desired. Only keeping them red as they were his favourite colour. His black hair, that was free flowing and reaching his neck in length, was swept back neatly behind his ears. He had a constant slight stubble that framed his face well. He wore an open black tuxedo, tightly fit around his frame, with a white shirt that was just as snug on his body. The look was completed by a slim black tie done in an intricate eldredge knot, and a leather belt with a gold plated buckle.

His eyes were closed as he patiently waited for the game to properly initialise all the startup functions, it usually took some time to process the startup renders and such.

"Its good to be…" He blinks his eyes. He repeats the action a few times just to make sure he wasn't seeing things. "What the hell!?" His guild was in ruins.

Gone were the brilliantly tall black marble pillars. Gone were the walls spouting bubbling magma and toxic carbon monoxide. Gone were the many proud demon guards that looked over the Throne room. And in its place? In its place was rubble.

The pillars? Shattered, nothing more than chunks of dull stone and finely ground dust.

The walls? Demolished. Crumbling at the very seams as it struggled to hold up the weight of the rest of the room.

The guards? Cold corpses rotting in their own, long dried blood.

"One month hiatus and the place is already destroyed huh?"

His guild had been raided, and defeated. Completely annihilated even, in the month he had been away. But then… why was it still standing? Not that it would matter in a few hours anyways.

Dennis chuckles. "No… That couldn't have worked." His chuckles eventually evolve into full blown laughter. "Ha! I can't believe hiding the bloody guild weapon under the carpet actually worked!" He keeps laughing All the way to where he remembered hiding the ring. "Where are you..?" He slowly pats around the area he was sure he had hidden the thing. "… Aha!" Sounding far too pleased with himself than he should be, Dennis slips the ring onto his second, and only other available ring slot. Spending money for advantages was not his style.

Swiping his credit card never filled him with the sense of pride and accomplishment that EA seems to adamantly claim was the case. He was in it for the long grind. And that meant he would have to work hard for his power, wasn't that the whole point of the game?

He pulls up the guild management screen to see if could manage to fix up any of the damage done to the base as he slowly heads back to his spawn point, the throne placed upon the raised platform within the once grand and beautiful looking throne room. Though it wasn't much of a proper room any more… not when you could see most of Muspelheim's sky by simply shifting your gaze the slightest hint upwards.

His eyes, well his real eyes widen considerably. Yggdrasil never was able to program in facial movements. "…I am not even… Why do I even play this game..?" The cost for refurbishing the guild was 20 billion gold. "This is just unfair…" It truly was. Especially considering the fact that this was meant to be a smaller and cheaper base, only three floors tall. Cheaper his ass. His guild was flat broke after a year of inaction and he had barely been keeping the guild functioning by himself before he too was forced to focus his time more on his job. Dennis continues to despair until one symbol catches his eye.

A bright green 'alive' symbol next to the uppermost name: Grayfia. She was the head guardian of his guild, and his very own creation. She was designed after an anime character he had found when he was searching for inspiration in designing his devil NPC. Grayfia Lucifuge was of a clan of devils that were loyal only to Lucifer, and she was the strongest of the clan. Why wouldn't he maker her his loyal guardian? It fit the theme of his guild so well. Though that wasn't to say that she wasn't open to his own personal wants and desires. Yes, he was a man. No, he wasn't really sorry about it.

One only had to take a look at her to see exactly why. She was beautiful, in an exotic kind of way. Long flowing sliver hair tied into intricate braids, large, caring and slightly almond shaped eyes with enrapturing ruby red irises, a well proportioned button like nose and a graceful smile that could entrance anyone she wished. He had spent many, many hours on designing her face alone.

And all this was just her face. Her body was… alluring to say the least. Buxom with curves filled out in a way to maximise her feminine charms, a slim waist designed to pronounce her seemingly impossible hourglass figure many woman desired and skin as smooth as porcelain with not a single blemish or imperfection. She had a figure that any supermodel would kill for, something that Dennis took pride in. And all this perfection was wrapped in the clothing of every man's dream. Full maid attire! Actually, the clothing just had really good stats. Though the fact that it looked good on her did not make Dennis regret the decision.

Grayfia Lucifuge was the product of many tens of hours of work, and the final product was one of the most beautiful NPCs ever made in the game. Tied for first with one of the NPCs from Ainz Ooal Gown. Though Dennis was sure that his waifu was the best hands down. Yes Dennis had in fact made his NPC on the premises of being his dream waifu. In all reality, who wouldn't if they had the chance? Games were an outlet to living out your fantasies was it not? He was sure the NPC tied for first with his Grayfia was one such realisation of a player's fantasy as well.

Though he was still left questioning how his NPC was the only one left alive after the total annihilation of his guild. Yes she was powerful, but considering every other guardian had been killed, she would have eventually been brought down. Not that he would look a gift horse in the mouth of course. Reviving her would have cost him money that he did not have.

He opens up her stat page and almost instantly finds the reason for her not dead state.

Ring of Matrimony

Divine class Item (Ring)

-What's mine is yours: The two married people wearing this ring share the abilities and effects of the items the other has equipped.

-Til death do us part: The wearer cannot die as long as the other wearer is alive.

"That is actually pretty over powered." The item was an extremely rare drop (and one of the very few dev made items) Dennis had discovered alongside many mediocre data crystals while grinding to earn the title of 'Lucifer' the first to fall from the grace of god. He had kept it simply because of the Divine class nature it held, and equipped it on his NPC on a whim when he had found it once again while scouring through his inventory. Some of her item bonuses were pretty good, and he wanted them, especially the 15% all round boost her full armour set provided. Though… who would deny the chance to say they got to actually marry their waifu? Definitely not him.

"Follow me please, Grayfia." There was no point leaving her on guard duty when there was nothing left to guard was there? She wordlessly steps in line behind him, following him as he heads around the guild, taking it all in once again. Now that he had nothing to maintain, it would be nice to once again explore his guild, or at least whatever was left of it.

Surprisingly, there were a fair few areas that were completely fine. These included the player rooms, which were default amongst most guild bases and were not allowed to be plundered on the basis of privacy, most of the personnel rooms, where maids would stay, the four of them which had managed to not get killed being added to his retinue as he continued exploring his ruined kingdom.

The second floor was almost completely annihilated. It was meant to be the defensive stronghold of their whole base, an area where the guild could rally and easily repel two legions of players for a considerable amount of time. Though he never got the chance to experience it, the only recent attack happening during the very month he had been too busy to check in on the game.

It was named The Garden. And the name fit. Modelled after what many would consider to be a traditional zen garden, the running theme throughout was of a flowing and rippling design. If it hadn't been destroyed and left a jagged and charred husk of its former self, the floor would be one of the most relaxing places you could find yourself in. A crystal blue stream flowing through a small grove of cherry blossom trees, arched bamboo bridges being the only way over. Pebble pits that had been painstakingly designed after models of legendary figures or battles and a large centred lake that brought everything together.

Now, the water was a muddy red, the cherry blossoms scattered as the trees burned, the bridges collapsed and the pits in disarray, the pebbles carelessly dislodged as if an explosion had torn through it. Knowing the scale of many of the attacks, an explosion was probably an understatement.

The first floor wasn't much better off. It was designed to be a maze like cave system, yet it had somehow managed to take considerable structural damage as well. It seemed as if the attacking party enjoyed assaulting the helpless walls.

The maze like design wasn't just to make the enemy frustrated, it was also there to mask the path to reach the treasury. The final area that failed to be plundered. Sure it was empty of any form of currency, but it held the treasurer, a level 100 NPC with the duty of guarding the treasury and the items stored within.

She was a powerful 'Living Golem' who had an extremely high regeneration rate of 50% HP per second at the cost of near zero defensive stats. She wore enchanted pure white robes that had the data crystals with the same defensive stats as that of powerful front line armour. She had long green hair, deep crystal blue eyes and a thin lipped smile, each situated on a face that was androgynous in a way such that she was neither masculine nor feminine. Dennis wasn't even sure if she was actually a she. But he wasn't going to go around calling the golem an 'it'. That didn't sit right with him, so he tended to settle on 'she'.

Actually. "Open settings." He could just check the settings. "Huh, you're a dude… cool." So she was really a he. Well, he could deal with that. "So… does that make you a trap?" He asks no one in particular. "Always had a feeling PanPan was into that. Anyways, follow me please, Lurva." He orders the final Npc as he heads further into the treasury. If he was to play the role of the king of the underworld, he needed his crown. What better way to end the game than as the amalgamation of all your time and effort?

The items were quite good in his opinion, especially the world item he was lucky to run into very early on during his time playing. It was what allowed him to be so successful in his endeavours.

Crown of Ash

World Class Item (Head gear)

-In fire I thrive: Immunity to all fire and chaos based damage and debuffs

-Gift of Muspelheim: Every attack contains traces of the deadly ash of Muspelheim, which deals a bonus of 1.5-15% (based on the tier of spell used) of an enemy's health as damage over 5 seconds. Defence and resistances will not reduce the damage taken.

-The champion of the flames: All fire and chaos based attacks ignore any immunities or resistances and are buffed by 30%.

Devil's Advocate

Devine Class Item (Mage Armour)

-Stop hitting yourself: Any magic attack below and including 7th tier is reflected back to the enemy caster, dealing damage to them instead.

-I am already in hell: Immunity to instant death magic. (Does not stop special class skills which could overcome this immunity)

-Whisper in your ear: Has a 15% chance for any attack to be negated.

-Devil's Advocate: any species in the family of devils gains a 5% all round bonus.

Ring of the Underworld

Guild Class Item (Ring)

-What burns you makes me stronger: Regenerate 15% of all fire and chaos based damage as HP.

-Fire is my domain: All chaos and fire based attacks are 40% cheaper to cast.

-Hell's beckon: Summon any demon from the rank of Lower Lord (5), Lord (7) , Duke (8), Prince (10) and King (12) up to a tier value of 16 from the depths of hell (can only be used once per day, but the summon lasts until killed or until another demon is summoned).

Golden Watch

Legendary Class Item (Accessory)

-Always on time: Immune to the effect of time stop spells.

Holy Cross

Legendary Class Item (Pendant)

-Heaven's light: The wearer is granted 5% Mp and HP regeneration a second (only 1/5th as effective in combat).

Holy edict: Deal bonus damage to all enemies with negative karma when using holy attacks (0% when 0 to 50% bonus when -500).

Now outfitted in his proper gear, Dennis looked all the more like the king of the underworld. The Crown of Ash appeared as a burning halo, a mockery of the pure and holy rings one may find donned upon the head of an angel. It left behind a floating trail of light ash whenever he moved.

His armour, Devil's Advocate, was a black Tuxedo, not much different from his original, however, this one had a blood red tie, was fully buttoned and came with a matching set of pointed black leather shoes. It made him look like the part of a classic gentleman.

Satisfied that he had everything, he turns to leave, the NPCs close behind. The walk back through the collapsing base was quick. Looking at the destroyed version of something you put time and effort into creating and managing did not leave any pleasant feelings, nor was it entertaining in any way. Especially when you could tell where the sprites and renders started repeating to save memory and processing power. It was a game after all.

"Standby." He commands as he takes his seat on the throne.

"To all that are left standing, I thank you for your service. Underworld may have fallen, but it lives on within us. So face the end with pride." There was no reaction of course, but it left Dennis satisfied. "Kneel if you may." The six remaining NPCs took a kneeling position in sync as the final few seconds slowly counted down.

Dennis wasn't really sure what to feel about the shut down of the game. Sure it was fun, but the sheer lack of any support sure made getting good at the game hard. Especially if luck was not on your side, he had nearly rage quit because of that very reason, many times. Though, one thing was for certain. He would miss his waifu very much. Maybe he could make her again in another game? Yeah, one with better graphics where she could actually reply to him.

He had always wanted to know how she would actually sound like if she could talk. Heh. His favourite game was shutting down and all he was thinking about was how sexy his waifu would sound if she could speak. He needed to get laid.

As the countdown reaches zero, Dennis closes his eyes. A yawn escaping his mouth. "I should really get some sleep." Going a week on just three hours of sleep was not agreeing with him.

00:00:01

00:00:02

00:00:03

The log off screen never showed up.

"Strange…" his voice sounded different. Deeper and more charming in a way. Though he doesn't dwell on it much as he opens his eyes. He was still on his throne, in his destroyed guild base. There was one big difference however. Sand.

Sand everywhere. Pouring in through the many cracks and holes in the walls.

"What just happened?" He asks, mainly to himself.

He did not expect a reply. "I do not know my dear husband." Especially not from such a melodious voice that simply danced upon his ears in a pleasurable way.

Wait. Did she just say husband? He glances at his right hand, where his ring of Matrimony was equipped. Right. His NPC could talk, she sounded sexy as hell, and she thought they were married. He must be dreaming. Or this was a new game. One way to find out.

"Someone please punch me. I must be dreaming."

"My lord! We could never do such a thing!" They all reply at once. Great, all of them could talk.

"Fine. I'll just do it myself." True to his words, he does just that. A meaty thwack resonating the halls as his fist meets his face. It actually hurts. He doesn't wake up. "Owww." He rubs his bruised cheek. "That didn't work."

"My Lord!" The four maids were upon him in an instant, worried looks marring their usually calm faces. "Are you alright!?"

"Y-yes. I'm fine." He barely gets out, the shock finally getting to him. This wasn't a dream. This couldn't be a game either, he had never heard of anything so advanced. These sorts of effects and interactions were decades ahead of any technology available on the market. "Just didn't realise my own strength is all." He adds with a chuckle. It was a method he had learned early during his time as a project manager for his company as a way to calm down his subordinates. Though it had the added benefit of helping himself calm down as well.

He waves them off trying to project an aura of calm control. "You don't have to worry about such minor incidents." He picks up the Holy Cross hanging on his neck. "A mere bruise like that would have been healed in an instant." It was true, the pain had already gone away as the item description stated.

He lets out a none too relieved breath when the four maids stop fawning over him. Having four beautiful women worry over him was in all honesty like a dream come true. But everything was just utterly overwhelming at this moment. Their soft breaths landing on his face. Their gentle hands grazing against his exposed skin. Their rapid heartbeats signifying their worry. THE GRATING SOUND OF SAND FLOWING INTO THE ROOM AT AN UNCONTROLLED PACE.

It was all too much.

He promptly stands up before spreading his wings, the feeling was far too natural, coming almost instinctively. The sudden action causing the maids to hastily fall to their knees in a show of fealty. "Grayfia, come with me, the rest of you stay here. I need to check something." Really, he just wanted to get out of the room. It was overwhelming, his mind going on overdrive with all these new sensory inputs.

"Of course Lord Lucyfer/Of course my dear husband." They reply in unison.

He simply nods before launching himself straight up into the air. The feeling of wind rushing by him was exhilarating to say the least. Pair that with the resounding and overwhelming feeling of freedom that came with it, and he was left feeling on top of the world. He could feel a bit of his worries fade with the action.

He takes a deep breath in, the cool and fresh air rejuvenating him for the moment, pushing the panic to the back of his mind. He exhales.

Breath in…

Breathe out…

In…

Out…

In…

Out…

He wasn't Dennis Langley anymore was he? No. To everyone here, he was Lucyfer Morningstar, the king of all devils and the master of hell.

Finally, after coming to terms with everything, he wondered what to do. They were not on Muspelheim anymore. Or Earth. The acute lack of hellfire and noxious gases making that much clear at least. He gazes thoughtfully at the landscape. A seemingly never ending desert that stretched on well past the visible horizon was all that he saw.

A soft pair of hands snake their way around his now much more defined chest. Soft breaths tickling his ear as he feels a soft weight upon his right shoulder and two soft mounds pressing upon his back. Definitely not a game it seems. "Its beautiful isn't it dear?" Grayfia's melodic voice dances upon his ears once again, causing Lucyfer to slightly shiver. At least he now knows what Grayfia sounds like.

"It is… but we have a problem Fia." He gestures to the horizon, his project leader mindset coming to the forefront. "We are in a desert, with no visible land marks or anything of the sort for navigation, in an unknown land, where the stars are completely different, with the only thing we have being a destroyed base."

Lucyfer hates the feeling he gets as Grayfia releases him before flying back a reasonable distance away from him, head bowed. "I take full responsibility for failing to defend your home while you were away. My life is the only thing I have left to give and for this failure I forfeit it!" She suddenly forms a blade of ice in her hands in a brilliant flash of blue. The sharpened edge already slicing through the air as it heads for her neck.

He was upon her in an instant, the sword shattering in his hand, effectively stopping her suicide attempt. "What are you doing!" He yells as he retrains her hands with his, so that she wouldn't get any further opportunities for taking her own life.

"I'm a failure!" She struggles in his grip, but luckily for him, his strength stats were higher than her's, allowing him to keep the struggling woman in his hold. "I'm not worthy of being your wife or the head guardian!"

"Grayfia." His voice was firm, leaving no room for argument. "You are not a failure. That base," he turns to look at the wrecked tower which they once called home, "which is currently sinking into the ground…" He trails off. "Shit… come on Fia, we need to get back to the base and scavenge as much as we can before the whole place gets sucked into the ground!" Lucyfer exclaims with a hint of urgency as he flies down back into the throne room, not waiting for her reply. If he did, he would've notice the unconvinced look she had on her face.

He flares his wings at the final moment of his subsonic descent, bringing down an immense gust of gale force winds with a single flap of his wings, up-skirting each of the maids and blowing upwards the robes of the living golem. Ugh, he did not need to see proof that Lurva was indeed a male.

"Dammit! Lurva!?" Put some pants on! He thinks in his mind at least.

"Yes Lord Lucyfer?"

"You can survive being buried alive right?"

"Of course my lord."

"Right, I need you to get to the treasury and get me, five pendants of flight, four rings of sustenance, five if you need to eat as well and as much of the high tier items in there as possible."

"At once my lord." The green haired man bows before parting the sand with a mere wave of his hands. Before vanishing around the corner.

Lucyfer turns to the four maids. "Is there anything of importance for you four stored within your rooms?"

They shake their heads in the negative. "You are the most important thing in our lives Lord Lucyfer." One of the maids, Lillian, answers for the four of them.

Lucyfer merely nods in acceptance, they seemed to be just like their backgrounds made them out to be. Loyal and dedicated to the extreme.

"Fia? Anything of importance to you?"

"No my lord." She replies, looking down at her feet, obviously still disappointed in herself. At least she wasn't trying to off herself.

Lucyfer was having none of that of course. His base wasn't even that strong all things considered, especially since they had no money to sustain the upkeep. Almost every single trap and pop-monster had been switched off to save as much money as he could. He couldn't have his NPCs, his only current allies having a negative state of mind.

"Fia…" His voice was firmer, yet carrying a tone that conveyed his understanding. He steps towards her, frowning when she flinches. "Are you scared of me?"

"No! You are my husband, you would never harm me." She answers confidently, sounding almost offended at the thought.

"Then why?"

"Because I failed you. How can you even stand having me in your presence?"

"Do you four feel the same?" He asks the maids who were still kneeling. "And stand please."

"Yes, my lord. We may not be able to do much, but we should have laid down our lives in the defence of your home." Another of the maids, Mariya, answers this time.

"I take it that Lurva feels the same?" He receives a few confirmatory nods.

"Alright. Wait until Lurva returns, I will be clearing up the air with all of you."

Luckily for them, Lurva returns a few moments later in a storm of sand, carrying in his hands five pendants of flight and four rings of sustenance. "As you requested my Lord. I have placed every Divine class and higher item within my inventory and have brought you five pendants of flight and four rings of sustenance."

"Thank you Lurva. Maids, take a ring. We may not have any source of food for a time, so you will use these rings. As we will be flying, each of you who cannot will need a pendant." With that, everyone equipped themselves as such before the group of seven took off into the night sky. "So long Underworld." Lucyfer states in passing. "You will not be forgotten."

They all watch as the base slowly sinks further and further into the desert, eventually disappearing as the sand explodes around the structure, the final pockets of air escaping through any available holes.

"Right, since that is over, it seems I have to clear the air with all of you. You all seem to have the misconception that because you aren't dead that you have failed me in someway. Is that correct?" Each of them nod, causing Lucyfer to growl in slight annoyance. "Tell me. Were any of you hiding away in fear?"

"We would never even think of such a thing!" Was the answer they each spouted at the same time.

"Were you each doing the jobs you were given?"

"To complete work in the name of our lords is our greatest honour!"

"Then tell me, where have you failed? You have done everything that could be expected of you. If anything, I should be the one apologising for not being there for my subjects! I have failed you have I not?"

"But the attack was out of your control! We could never blame you for that!" Grayfia exclaims whole heartedly. "Especially not after all you had done for us!"

"Was the attack not out of your control as well?" He asks, shutting all of them up. "Did most of you not pay the ultimate price defending your home!? Honour what they, your comrades have given up and show them that their lives were not forfeit in vain, for we have a new mission. We will thrive! We will grow strong! And we will NEVER let this happen again!"

"Yes my Lord!"

"I! Cannot! Hear! You!"

"YES MY LORD!"

"Good." Lucyfer smirks, nodding in approval. He could see a new fire in their eyes. Their drive was back. "For now, we should rest." He turns to Lurva. "If it wouldn't be too much trouble, would you be able to create us some temporary accomodation?" He chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment. "I never had the need to learn the [Create Fortress] spell for myself."

"Do not worry my lord. That spell… is quite the useless one." With a wave of his hand Lurva commands the sand to solidify, surging together as it takes the form of a grand looking multi roomed building. Even veins of iron from deep within the earth were being harvested to form the frame for the roof and foundation. It wasn't long before the large building was completed, Lucyfer was sure he even saw functioning plumbing, a notable feat in of itself.

Lucyfer merely laughs. "I can see why you'd think as such." He pauses to think for a moment. "Ah, sorry for asking so much of you Lurva, but would you be able to bring out some of the beds and such? Only if it's not too troublesome of course."

"I have already done so my Lord. I could never let you or any of my comrades sleep on the mere floor." Lurva explains, his caring for his allies clearly audible in his tone of speech. "I have also salvaged any clothing that may have been in your wardrobes."

"You have my thanks Lurva, you are quite the subordinate. I for one, am glad to have you as an ally."

"I am honoured you think as such my Lord, you will have my assistance for as long as you require it." The man bows, a small smile on his otherwise neutral face.

"The same goes for each of you." He gestures to each of those with him with a wide wave of his hands. "You have all done so much for me and the guild. I can only hope you will stand by my side once again through this new world we have found ourselves in."

Lillian was already bowing her head. "The honour would be mine my Lord."

Mariya was close behind. "Mine as well my Lord."

Seek seemed to have tears in her eyes. "I will gladly follow you to the ends of this world my Lord."

Coco was overjoyed, if the bright smile she had on her face told him anything. "You are too kind my Lord! Serving you is the greatest honour I can imagine!"

Grayfia simply smiles as she floats towards him, embracing him in a warm and heartfelt hug. "I would shift the very sky for you if you asked, dear husband of mine." She gives him a searing kiss, an action he reciprocates after a brief moment of stunned inaction. "I'm afraid that you will be stuck with me for good Lucy."

He chuckles as he considers each of their answers. "Wonderful! Now come on, we need to get ourselves organised for tomorrow." He smiles as he descends down upon the recently constructed abode. It was a quality construction to say the least. The walls smooth as if they had been professionally plastered, the floor tiled by seemingly polished marble and articulate doors made not from wood, but what looked to be refined steel, or a similar metal of the sort.

"Each room has a functioning shower and bath if you wish to clean yourselves, it is sadly not to the standard of our home, but it is to the best of my ability. Your rooms will be down this corridor, and be labeled as such, I will be meditating as I do not need sleep, feel free to ask for anything you may need." Lurva finishes with a bow, before waiting expectantly for any questions. There were none.

"Thank you Lurva, we will leave you to your meditation." Lucyfer gives him a nod of thanks before heading to his room. The man was such an immense boon in their current situation. He was sure that without Lurva, they would be in a much more disadvantageous position. And Lucyfer was sure that he would need all the advantages he could get to survive in this new and unknown land.

"Of course my Lord, enjoy your sleep."

"He will Lurva~" Grayfia answers playfully as she follows her husband to their room. The living golem merely shakes his head, a slight smile on his face.

Lucyfer's eyes widen slightly, unknown to the others of course, when he hears what Grayfia has to say. He had no idea what to do in such a situation. Hell, she had stolen his first kiss in the sky a few minutes prior. Dennis Langley, and Lucyfer by definition was a complete novice in the workings of the heart. He eventually just shrugs. It could wait. Right now he just needed a warm bath to release the mental strain from the whole day.

He yawns once again as he stretches his arms, stretching his neck as well. He releases a relived groan as each of his joints pop into place, his spinal vertebrae doing much the same. His body didn't really feel tired at all, the effect of the ring of sustenance, he presumed. His mind however? That was plenty tired. He could honestly fall asleep standing at this point. Though he was sure that was something he would rather not happen in front of his seemingly living and sentient NPCs. They may be loyal now, but he was not sure how their opinions of him would change as time passed.

He pushes through the door into his- no, it wasn't just his was it? He pushes into his and Grayfia's shared room, and removes his items, safely stowing them in his personal inventory before heading directly to the bathroom.

He stops in front of the mirror to observe his new body, his curiosity momentarily overcoming his mental fatigue. He had never observed himself too much in game, having spent the majority of his time discovering new information on his quest to become the true Lucifer. But now that he could take a good look at himself, he could say that he was quite the head turner. He was taller than he was as Dennis, being a solid 180cm compared to his previous stature of 174cm. Lucyfer wasn't bulky or made from muscle like a body builder would be. Instead, he had a sleek, agile and athletic body with rippling muscles that held a hidden strength. He liked it, a solid all round upgrade all things considered.

He pauses for only a moment to wonder who had set the bath before easing himself into the heavenly embrace of the perfectly heated water. The large tub easily allowing him to stretch his legs to the fullest as he tries to find the most comfortable position for himself. He closes his eyes after a moment, slightly frustrated that no matter how he tried he couldn't find that perfect position. At least the warm water was doing wonders for his mental state. The constant feeling that something was missing wouldn't bother him too much.

A giggle drew his attention and his gaze fell upon his very naked, and very sexy woman who was standing in all her seductive glory before him. Grayfia was truly a beauty, he knew because that was how he had designed her after all. But to see her in reality? That was truly something else. Long, slender legs, juicy thighs that led to wide and appealing hips, a slender waist, a smooth, creamy stomach and large breasts sporting perfectly sized light pink areola. Truly a succubus in all but name. And species, succubi could really exist in this world, who knows?

He really should have expected Grayfia to want to share the bath. But he hadn't. He nearly blacked out when he saw her gently easing herself into the bath. Her breasts swaying gently as she draped herself over him, her perked nipples grazing over his chest in a way that just felt… right. Though that faded to the back of his mind as he closed his eyes once again, finally able to fully relax, as the feeling that something was missing had receded.

He didn't even realise he had fallen asleep until he was shaken awake by a very amused looking Grayfia. "Long day?" She asks as she rubs soothing circles on his chest.

"Like you wouldn't imagine." He answers with a yawn, her actions relaxing him further. "The… other world I have been watching over had been requiring my undivided attention for over a month. I don't think I got more than 3 hours of sleep at the longest…" It was true. He and his team had received a surprise scaffold and blueprint outlining a new building that was to be constructed in two months. They needed to check the land, the foundational strengths, material sourcing, the calculations, the weather conditions, the erosion ratings, literally everything to do with the construction effort in a single month. They had barely managed to complete the job as well. He was lucky to have been able to keep his job, considering how close he and his team had cut it.

"I guess I understand..." Grayfia sighs out before she lays her head on area between his neck and shoulders. "Everyone was so scared when you didn't come back after a week. We thought you had abandoned us. I thought you had abandoned me." She tightens her hold on his body, hugging herself as close to him as she possibly could. "During the attack… I thought that I was going to die without ever seeing you again." A loud sob wracks through her body. "I was so scared… but the ring you gave me kept me safe, like you were there keeping me safe. Just…" She wipes a few of the stray tears on her cheeks. "Just..." She kisses him, the action full of all the love and desperation her voice can't convey. "Just don't leave me alone ever again. Please…"

Grayfia's reactions really brought his situation into perspective. These weren't NPCs anymore. They were living breathing beings. Supernatural, but otherwise just as human as anyone else. They had feelings, hopes, desires and even fears. His wife had made that very clear.

He wraps his arms tightly around his distressed wife's waist, unsure of how to make her feel safe. Luckily for him, the extra skin contact seemed to be enough as her breathing slowed back to within normal ranges. "You won't ever have to worry about that again Fia." He had no idea of how to get back to his world. Not that he wanted to, now that had experienced this new world he was in.

He would have to tell Grayfia a reasonable explanation for why they were here wouldn't he? Lucyfer paused. He had no idea of how to tell his wife that her world was meant to end today. "Did you know today was an important day in Yggdrasil?"

"No…" She shakes her head. "Was I meant to?"

He could work with this. "Honestly..? It was better that you didn't." One of his hands moves to stroke her hair in a soothing manner. At least he hoped it was soothing. "Today… Today was Ragnarök. The end of the world. The end of Yggdrasil. I came here to stand with you to the end, and die alongside my beloved wife and subjects." That was as close to the truth as he wanted to get. Revealing that their wholes lives had been false would not be a good idea.

"Why?" The sheer amount of shock, love and joy conveyed through just this one word was overwhelming. "Our lives mean nothing compared to yours."

Lucyfer doesn't answer with words. That may have been true beforehand, but now each of them was just as alive as he was. And it was up to him, as their leader to keep them safe. Lucyfer smiles before gently caressing Grayfia's flawless face. Lifting his wife's chin with his free hand, he looks deep into her stunning red irised eyes before enveloping her lips with his own, his feelings laid bare as their tongues danced together.

That was answer enough.

Hi! This is DeeDoggo. Overlord has been one of my obsessions for quite a while now, and I have (after reading the series probably 3 times over, just waiting for the next installment) decided to write stuff in the world that has so skillfully been crafted by Kugane Maruyama. This will probably not be a scheduled thing, but I will be keeping at it until I run out of the spark I tend to have while writing anything.

I see too much about Ainz and his crew being OP and no matter how loveable the whole cast is, it tends to get painfully predictable as people tend to just follow the canon plot with very few deviations except for wish fulfilment. So I tried my hand at making a story about an OC, who isn't encroaching on bone daddy's land of fun, and instead about the much talked about sandy south. that is waaaaay south. Yes, the hardly talked about Eryuentiu here we come!

Hope you enjoy. If not, tell me why not, I write for fun, but I do want to get better at it, feedback only helps. Maybe I should read the series again just to refresh my self on the small details.

Cya!
