Disclaimer: If I owned Alias, Sark would have a lot more screen time.
Apparently I don't. Oh and the quote isn't mine either.
AN: This is just a short drabble. I couldn't resist writing it. Sark POV.
~*~*~*~*~*~
When I was little, my mother used to always tell me "The road to hell is paved with good intentions," but I never really understood what that meant.
Irina recruited me into her organization when I was only fourteen. She told me I would help save the world, and those were my intentions. I was going to be a hero. I had no idea that ten years later I would turn into Mr. Sark, a wanted terrorist.
I went into this business with the best of intentions.
My first real assignment was to kill a high ranking official of an opposing organization. Irina told me he was an international terrorist that needed to be eliminated. She told me I would be doing a good thing. So I killed him. I held a gun point blank to his head. He was blubbering and begging for his life, but I kept a emotionless expression like Irina instructed. Finally, I closed my eyes and pulled the trigger. His crimson blood was splattered everywhere. Later, I found out that the opposing organization the agent worked for was the CIA. He was not an international terrorist, but I am.
I murdered that man with the best of intentions.
The most important thing I've learned from all of my experiences is that good intentions count for shit in life. It's not the thought that counts, it's the actions one takes to carry them out.
Not only am I a demon in hell, but I work for the devil herself.
"The road to hell is paved with good intentions." I understand that now. Ten years too late.
