"Artyom. wake up. It's not your time yet. There are still people who need your help." I turn to face the familiar voice. Its is mother, but I can't see her face. its like I have forgotten how she looked. "Mother?", I call out, but receive no answer. Everything quickly goes dark shortly after I speak. Jerking awake, I see that I'm still alive. As I go to put my hand to my face, I feel that my gas mask is on. I'm on the surface and my gas mask isn't on. Quickly I put it on to avoid suffocating. Looking around I spot my kalish, an Anti Material Rifle, a Shambler, a revolver, and a Hellising. As I move to collect the weapons, I see something not right. A rebar, half inch thick, is protruding from my stomach. Shakily I pull the bar out and use one of my three medicine syringes before collecting the weapons. As I do, I can't help but notice that the trees aren't trying to kill me. It's... an uncomfortable feeling to say the least. I look to my left as I hear a noise and see what looks like a bear? I've seen mutated bears, but this looks almost nothing like them. While I am looking at it, it charges me without warning me. I take off with a yell of "OH SHIT!" It quickly catches up and hits me, I hit a tree. As I go to raise the Shambler to defend myself, it knock it out of my hands.

I try to scramble back as it rises up with one paw raised, then it stops. In front of my eyes drift petals? what? "Are you alright?" I hear someone ask. Looking around quickly, I see the owner of the voice. A young girl, wearing a red cloak, a black and red outfit. I don't understand what she's saying, that's gonna be a problem. The bear collapses and starts...disintegrating? I pull out the revolver and train it on the bear. Mutants don't disappear like that. The girl says something in her strange language, but I ignore it there's a call I recognize. Watchmen. I hurriedly pick up the Shambler and Kalish, and scan, waiting for them. The girl says something I don't understand again. I wish i knew what she was saying. She tugs my arm and points North? Following the girl, who is without mask, I keep a look out for those Watchmen I heard moments ago. Eventually we enter a clearing. At one end is some ruins where two blonde, two redheads, two black haired teens, and one with pure white hair are waiting. At the other end is a cliff. My red tipped companion pulls me over to the rest of of the group, as they greet me, I can't understand what any of them say. "Look, I can't understand you guys." I try to tell them. The white one, points to something behind us, and as I turn to look I can almost feel my heart stop. It's a very large Spiderbug. Immediately I open fire on the beast, and it doesnt like that. I lure it away from the group while making motions for them to run away. As it chases me through the forest, I can hear gunfire coming from them. It seems that there was a second beasty coming for us. Using the environment to my advantage, I manage to kill the Spiderbug.

As I turn to head back to the group, I come face to face with a Watchman. I kill it mid Howl, but it's too late, the damage is done. Quickly putting my last shell in the Shambler, I kill the first beast. I fire into their midst, backpedaling as they come after me, intent on feasting upon my corpse. The Shambler is dry, I switch to my Kalish and keep firing. It seems like there is no end to their numbers. One manages to pounce on me while I'm reloading, I hold it off and punch it in the face. It lunges after I did so, only to die. The crack of the gun is quickly followed by the death of the watchmen. Shoving the dead beast off, I quickly finish reloading and continue the battle. I stay clear of the various symbols that crop up under the Watchmen, lighting them on fire, killing them with electricity, or covering them in ice. It was strange, being helped by powers not understood, but its not the first time it's happened. As the battle comes to a close, I finally hear an engine of some sort. I look for the source and see a plane of sorts land in the middle of the clearing. As the ramp descends, an old man steps out followed by a blonde haired lady. As he approaches, I keep my revolver at the ready, he says something I don't understand. I shake my head and repeat myself, "Look, I can't understand you." The man stops and stares at me, after a moment he says, "Old Atlesian? I am surprised. Tell me, what's your name?" Surprised, that I understood him, I stutter, "A-A-Artyom Chyornyj."

The old man seems to ponder this before saying, "Tell me Artyom, do you know where you are?"

"The surface, in a forest." I reply. "Why do you wear the mask?" he asks me. Caught off guard, I remain silent, surely he knows of the danger of not wearing a gasmask on the surface? Finally I answer, "The air is lethal due to radiation. It filters out the radiation"

"Oh? If that's the case, shouldn't the rest of us be dead?" he inquires. I see what he means, and reluctantly I remove the mask and take a deep breath. The air taste pure, clean, untainted. "Miss Chyornyj, would you like to come to my school?" he asks. "School for what?"

"Combat. You have already shone great skill." He is offering me a position at his school, no strings attached. I shouldn't accept, but I'm going to need a base of operation. Learning the language would prove useful, and bullets might not be the currency. "I accept your offer Mr.?"

"Ozpin." he replies. "Mr. Ozpin, but I have conditions. I need someone to teach me the language. I need ammo, supplies and access to a workshop." Ozpin looks at the students behind him, and to the teacher beside him, "Welcome to Beacon Academy, Artyom."
