"Aradia, oh Jegu'th Aradia," Sollux said, panic lacing his voice. Within his arms he held her close. Red blood ran down his arms, staining his clothes.

"I-It's al-right Sollux," she weakly said, resting her head in the crook of his neck. She could smell the faint scent of honey on him.

"Why…WHY! You th'ouldn't forgive me! You th'ould be loathing me! Be di'thgu'thted of me!" he yelled in heavy lisp. Sollux just couldn't understand why this girl was so forgiving. Why wasn't she feeling the same anger that he was feeling? Those gentle and forgiving words were killing him so. It made him feel furious and desperate. He had never felt so emotionally weak.

"I can never b-be angry with you…." she continued, a smile caressing her features. She reached to stroke his face, but her arm gave out. Aradia didn't have much strength left in her.

Sollux caught her falling arm with his free hand and pressed her rough palm to his cheek. Her skin was cold and shaking.

"Plea'the, plea'the Aradia," Sollux pleaded. Yellow mustard tears dripping onto Aradia's pale cheeks. The thought of never seeing her smiling face killed him.

She was the only one to ever show him so much compassion that no other troll ever gave him, even when he didn't need or want it. This was his morial, maybe even his mate sprit. How could he possibly have done this?

Aradia adjusted her hand and interlocked their fingers together. Sollux firmly yet gently squeezed her hand. He was damn sure not ready to let her go.

"I want…you to be ha-happy… Sollux….." she whispered, her eyes getting heavier as she coughed up blood. He felt her grip start to loosen. His heart raced faster, squeezing her hand tighter.

"I-I am happy Aradia," he started, speaking past his sniffles. "I'm happy with the thought of you by me Aradia. D-Don't leave me…..I need you…..no, I WANT you…you and no one el'the."

"….be happy…..Sollu…." she fell limp in his arms, her fingers drifting out of his grasp as her smile faded.

Sollux sobbed as he started to shake her unconscious body, repeatedly calling her name.

Realizing that she truly was dead, he screamed, his lungs bursting with fire of pure agony. Psychic energy went out of control, shooting everywhere and destroying everything.

Aradia was dead….

Dead.

Never to be seen again.

Forever gone.

It took Sollux time to figure out there was nothing he could do. Eventually, he calmed down and looked to the dead corpse in his arms.

Staring into Aradia's face, he wept as he thought how much she looked as though she was peacefully sleeping.

"Aradia…oh Jegu'th, Aradia I love you…..I love you…..damn it, I love you….." he continued to repeat, rocking back and forth as he cried into her dark red hair. Those words that he was too shy and nervous to say before were now too late. Aradia would never hear them. She'd never know he loved her.
