A/N: Hi, everyone! I'm back with another short one shot. I'd like to thank nannygirl for previewing this a few weeks ago. It's short but sweet, and I really hope you like it. Thanks for reading! Oh, if any of you are long time readers of mine; I will be taking a short hiatus until June eighth or so do to exams and preparing of the one person show I'm premiering in soon. Sorry I won't get to update much if at all until then, but I'll be back as soon as I can.

Disclaimer: I don't own T7S. Duh.

Michael Kelso stuck his tongue out in concentration as he navigated his pocket with one hand for keys, his daughter's third birthday present in the other hand. He grabbed the key to his front door and jammed it in, pulling it out once or twice to align it with the keyhole. The door swung open and he tiptoed in, his smile growing with each passing second.

"Shh…" he whispered to Betsy's gift. "Brooke!" He called, sharing an unreciprocated knowing look with the bundle in his arms. "I'm back!"

The clicking sound amplified as Brooke came closer, wearing a floral dress and a particularly loud pair of heels.

Betsy's present whimpered. "Michael-" she looked at the thing he was holding. "You got Betsy a puppy?" She was smiling, but her voice portrayed no enthusiasm.

"Yeah!" He exclaimed. "Am I the best dad ever, or what?"

"Oh. Oh, yes, Michael. You are great, but I thought we agreed on waiting until she was older to get Betsy a puppy." She was met with a pair of puppy dog eyes, protruding lower lip, and whimpering. And they weren't coming from the puppy. "Okay.." she took a deep breath and took a seat, motioning for Kelso to join her. "Sweetie, I know you love dogs."

"Yeah," he said, hurt attached to his voice, "dogs are awesome." He still remembered wrestling with the neighborhood dogs, back in Point Place where he grew up.

"Well, let me put it this way; did you get the puppy because Betsy wants one or because you wanted it?"

His mouth fell open and his face scrunched up in thought. "Well, I mean, yeah I love dogs, because I'm awesome with them, and they love me, but who doesn't love me? But c'mon, Brooke, she's so cute! Betsy is my little girl, so shouldn't she like dogs too?"

Darn. That was such a cute fatherly statement. How was she supposed to turn that down? "Alright, Michael. The puppy stays."

"Cool! Thanks, Brooke!" He set the puppy down and ran towards their daughter's bedroom. "Hey Betsy! Bets-guess what your dad got you-the best present in the whole world!"

Brooke smiled contently as she watched Kelso and Betsy rolling around on the floor, puppy running over them and around them. Betsy giggled with glee as Michael held it close enough for it to lick her face. Maybe this was a good present after all. "And we'll call her…Puppy!" Betsy declared.

"That's a great name, Bets!" He stuck his hand out to high five his tiny daughter before they ran off to chase Puppy around the house.

Like father like daughter.
