This story is quite unlike anything that I've ever published here...it's more exploratory on my part.
However, I would like to break my writer's block by posting something. So, here it is. Take it for what it is: fun, nostalgic, not all too serious, and without explanation. Enjoy?
The patch-work quilt on her bed smelt like him, and this annoyed Lily. She snatched it up off of her bed, and, opening her trunk with the heel of her shoe, dropped it to lie with the rest of her possessions that she would have the strength to throw away one day, but had to get out of sight for now.
Now it was on her arms. He was musky, like evergreens and a freshly washed dog. She dropped onto her bed, softly lifting her wrists up to her nostrils and taking him in. It wasn't going to go away in just one day, not like he did.
His hair was like a freshly washed dog, too. She used to kneel behind him, wrapping her arms around his neck and burying her face in his tawny locks that were so soft and innocent smelling. She used to marvel at the size of his skull; when she placed her hands on either side of his head, she realized that his entire person was between her small hands.
Lily kicked a box of his chocolates under her bed.
"Not true," she said aloud, "Half of his soul is up his righteous ass and the other is in his god damn chocolates."
One of her dormitory mates coughed, and Lily scrunched up her nose to keep herself from talking. She reluctantly kneelt to the floor to retrieve the assaulted box of sweets.
"Well," she said, taking a bite of the dark chocolate. "It's not your fault, anyways."
Lily then dropped a piece on her white sweater.
"Great," she plucked it off quickly, trying to avoid smearing any chocolate on the clean sweater. Luckily, the sweater was clean; however, the chocolate was not. She held it up to her eye, examining the tiny fibers covering the candy.
Lily threw it in the garbage bin and grabbed a lint roller.
"Note to self," Lily said, under her breath while rolling the sticky tape across her shirt front. "Never date a werewolf again."
