Today was the day. A day that Rachel had been so sure about less than twenty four hours ago. Now, she wasn't so sure. Getting married was a big deal. And they were only eighteen. Rachel and Finn had been criticized many times for their decision to get married. But, Rachel had never paid any attention to it. Now she was. Maybe everyone was right. Were they too young to get married, after all? No! Rachel wanted this. Finn wanted this. So why was she so unsure all of a sudden?
Rachel looked at herself in the mirror. She was in a beautiful white wedding dress. This should be the happiest moment of her life. But as she looked in the mirror, she couldn't get herself to smile. Something didn't feel right. Something was wrong. But what was it? Rachel knew. She just didn't want to admit it to herself. The thought of coming to terms with what she really wanted scared her.
"You look beautiful." Rachel heard, and spun around to find Santana standing at the door.
"Thanks, Santana." Rachel smiled for the first time all day.
"Everyone's waiting out there." Santana said.
"I know. I'm waiting on Quinn." Rachel typed another message to Quinn.
"Where are you?" It read.
"No you're not." Santana rolled her eyes.
"Excuse me?"
"You and Quinn hate each other! You're not waiting on her. You just don't want to go through with this." Santana said, walking closer to Rachel.
"That's not true. I love Finn. And I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him."
"You're a terrible liar, Rachel." Santana giggled.
Rachel was lying. She didn't want to spend the rest of her life with Finn! She wanted to spend it Santana. But she couldn't. It would make everything too complicated. Not to mention the pair hadn't talked about their eighth grade fling in years.
"You don't have to do this. You could just leave. Him. The wedding. That ridiculous Kohls dress."
"It's too late, Santana. What we had was great, but it's time to move on. I have." Rachel said, trying to believe her own words. She couldn't. She wouldn't.
"Do you think I don't see you staring at me in Glee Club. Because I do. All the time. It's the exact same way I used to look at you summer of eighth grade." Santana said, and Rachel smiled slightly.
"I miss you." Rachel said quietly.
"Do you remember when we were younger and every Saturday we performed for your dads in your basement?"
"The Snix and NiNi Show." Rachel giggled.
"I miss that. Us." Santana looked down. Rachel looked at Santana. She was crying. Four years of heartache had finally come out. Rachel pulled Santana into her arms and held her tightly.
"I never stopped loving you, Santana." Rachel whispered. "And I never will."
Then, Santana kissed her. It was soft and sweet at first, but then it started getting sloppy, Santana putting the past four years into it. They both pulled away when Rachel's phone started vibrating violently.
"Sorry." Rachel said, and answered her phone.
Santana just nodded and let Rachel answer the call. So many thoughts were going through her head that she didn't even hear Rachel's gasp. Santana was thinking about the kiss. And how it felt right. Did this mean they were back together? If it did, they didn't have long to plan for the future. Would she follow Rachel to New York or what? Of course she would! Santana refused to lose Rachel again. She put her fingers on her lips and smiled. Her mouth was still tingling from the kiss, something Santana could definitely get used to.
"We'll be right there!" Santana heard, and put her thoughts aside. She saw a terrified look on Rachel's face as she ended the call. Something was wrong. Terribly wrong.
"What's going on?" She asked.
"Quinn was in a car crash."
