Nothing
Prompt: Nothing- The Script
As they take me to my local down the street, I'm smiling, but I'm dying.
Trying not to drag my feet.
They say a few drinks will help me to forget her.
But after one too many, I know that I'll never.
Only they can't see where this is gonna end.
Derek was heartbroken. He broke up with Emily and then he realized what he had done was stupid.
He decided to take up Rossi's offer and go to the bar. He hoped by drinking he could forget her. He began to drink a little too much. Hotch and Rossi had to try to help him sober up a little. They could have used more help, but Reid left an hour before.
They all think I'm crazy, but to me it's perfect sense.
And my mates are all there trying to calm me down.
'Cause my mates are all there trying to calm me down.
'Cause I'm shouting your name all over the town.
I'm swearing if I go there now, I can change her mind, turn it all around.
And I know that I'm drunk but I'll say the words.
And she'll listen this time even though they're slurred.
Hotch and Rossi decided to go with Morgan on a little walk through the city, hoping the cold would sober him up a little. Derek was way too drunk. He began telling Hotch, "I want to go see her. She'll change her mind if I talk to her." Hotch looked at him as if he was crazy and said, "No, Derek. You are not going over there like this. You can't even speak without slurring."
Dialed her number and confessed to her.
I'm still in love but all I heard was nothing.
Derek decided to call Emily, but he only got her voicemail. "Hey, Emily. I still love you. I was stupid. Please, take me back," Derek slurred. He didn't hear anything on the other end, forgetting it was a voicemail. He hung up and told Hotch and Rossi he was going to go to her apartment. Hotch wouldn't let that happen, but they followed closely behind him as he walked.
So I stumble there, along the railings and the fences.
I know if I faced her face, that she'll come back to her senses.
Every drunk step I take leads me to her door.
If she sees how much I'm hurting, she'll take me back for sure.
Derek finally reached her door and knocked. Emily opened the door and was shocked to see a drunk Derek standing there. She wipes the drying tears off her cheeks and brings him into her apartment.
He sat down on her couch and said, "Emily, I love you. I still do. I was so stupid to ever let you go." Emily just stared at him and said nothing.
She said nothing.
I wanted words but all I heard was nothing.
Sometimes life's intoxicating.
Oh, you're coming down, your hands are shaking.
When you realize there is no more waiting.
Am I better off dead?
Am I better off a quitter?
They say I'm better off now then I ever was with her.
I've got nothing.
