"I can't video chat right now, Sheldon." Amy texted. She could practically hear the disappointment in his voice when he texted back asking why, and she reluctantly told of the darkness in her room being the hindrance and the late hour made it impossible to be in the light.

"We could call each other on the phone." he texted back a few moments later.

Amy grinned at the suggestion and wasted no time calling him. When he picked up she reclined on her bed and starred at the ceiling.

"Hey, Sheldon."

"Oh good, Amy, I have so much to tell you."

He sounded so enthusiastic she listened with her full attention. At the sound of his voice she was mesmerized, fiddling with the ends of her hair and suppressing giggles at his humorous anecdotes. At the same time, she couldn't help noticing how softly he was talking into the phone, and how generally happy he sounded.

It was perfect.

"...What do you think?" he asked suddenly, and Amy bit her lip, held her breath, anything to keep from squealing.

"I think it's a lovely idea, shall we start tomorrow night over the phone?"

"It's settled." Sheldon said firmly.

Amy smirked in victory and sighed contentedly. Sheldon's breathing had shallowed, as had hers, and she knew they were both on the edge of sleep. His sleepy voice sent calming vibes through her body and she placed the phone on her ear before dropping her hand in exhaustion.

She closed her eyes to focus more on his voice and slowly but surely it began to sound more distant, but it felt as if he were right there with her.

She'd need the sleep if they were actually going to make their discussion a reality the next night.
