Why sing in the rain when you can dance? Slightly ShinAya and Dancing!Ayano

She liked the warm sun a lot, but a bit of rain never hurt.
Even though her socks were soaked through her shoes, she couldn't help but gently step into the puddles that were born overnight. She was walking the same way as always, going to school with her simple smile.
The red umbrella that rested on her shoulder tilted slightly as Ayano stretched her pale hand out to the rain, dozens of miniscule drops falling into her palm.
It was truly unfortunate that this was the last time she would see rain, but, albeit brief, she should at least enjoy this blissful feeling while it lasted. Just being alive felt thrilling. Being able to feel wet, although uncomfortable, was an irreplacable gift.
Hopefully, she may be able to come back to see the rain again if her hero's mission is successful, but it was a low probability that the future she made up would become a reality.
A raindrop fell on her cheek, but it was oddly warm. Immediately, she distracted herself. Whenever they were sad, Ayano always distracted her three heroes at home by being goofy. She needed to switch her thoughts to a different topic, or she'll waste her final days in deep depression.
Out of nowhere, she began to hum. It wasn't a real song; it was just a strange, patchwork-y composition she created. Ayano didn't know which pitch to hum next, so there was an occasional sour note. Despite that, her mood perked up almost instantly. Holding her crimson umbrella closely, she bounced with the melody, glided with the rhythm, and spun with the harmony. Ayano nearly slipped on the wet concrete of the street a few times, but she ended up safely getting her footing back quickly.
Each breath she took in was brisk and fresh, the purest of air. It was such a wonderful experience to feel her heart beating so wildly, to feel the fresh rain surround her, to feel alive.
"Ayano?"
She turned to see one of her favorite heroes awkwardly staring at her. He was ahead of her by a few meters on the bridge they always walked through. She blushed sheepishly, her face as red as her signature scarf. It was then that she realized she had splashed in the rain and creating makeshift ballet movements in the middle of the street for ten minutes.
"Oh, uh, hi Shintaro-kun." For the first time ever, she was caught embarrased.
Shintaro sighed, "Y'know, it's really childish to dance in the rain, right? Somebody might've recorded you doing... whatever you were doing and post it online titled, 'Crazy Girl Dances Alone.' You should have a bit more common sense than that, Ayano."
Even though she was supposed to be ashamed of her immature behavior, she caught a bit of concern in the boy's voice when he attempted to sound annoyed today.
But no one could deceive Ayano Tateyama.
Under his black umbrella, he rolled his eyes and turned away from the girl.
"Hey! Shintaro-kun, wait up!" Ayano scurried to his side quickly. The sharp boy groaned, but allowed her to walk with him to school.
The red and black umbrellas strolled together on that rainy day, content with each other's company.
Oh my gosh, this is so short .-. Funny, because it rained today where I live, and I literally reside in a desert, so... yeah. And stuff.
