A/N; This ONE-SHOT is a rather pointless sad little thing I wrote a while ago. It's open for adoption, so if you want to continue it, just ask. Otherwise it's just a pointless sad one shot I wrote a while ago.

"I heard Joy asked him out when she was in the same room."

"Well, I heard he asked Joy out, not the other way around,"

"He wouldn't dare. Not with Nina in the room."

"Yeah well… that's what I heard."

"Hey! Look! There she is! We can ask her!"

Two teenagers, one with red hair and the other with blonde, race over to a lonely-looking brown-haired girl standing next to her locker. "Hey, Nina!" They call, and she looks up, and they can see her eyes are red.

"Is it true?" The redhead asks, bouncing on the balls of her feet. "Are the rumors true?"

"The ones about Fabian and Joy?" The blonde adds. "Are they really going out?"

Deep breath.

"Yeah, they are," Nina confirms quietly as she closes her locker, wondering why everyone is so obsessed with the dumb love triangle that is Fabian and Joy and Nina Martin.

The two girls hush over this news, eyes growing wide as they absorb the information. They heard it from at least a dozen people already, but they never really believed it, because it seemed so impossible.

"But he's in love with you!" The blonde bursts, and she looks so much like Amber in that moment, Nina smiles.

She hasn't smiled in days.

"Yeah… Well…" Nina shrugs, trying to act indifferent about it, like she doesn't really care. She doesn't want them to realize how much this conversation is hurting her. "I guess he isn't, huh?"

She forces a smile.

"Who asked who?" The redhead interrupts, stepping in front of her friend, desperate for more information.

"He asked Joy," Nina said quietly, and the two friends gasp and run off to tell their friends, who will tell theirs. By lunchtime everyone will know.

Nina doesn't care. At least, that's what she tells herself.
