There was just something about music that seemed to set you free here. It gave you something to do, really. Locked up in your underwater prison, you often composed little tunes in your head. The out of tune voices of your thoughts sang and screamed of a day.
A day when you would escape this place.
On other days, your voice would do the screaming for you, ringing off the walls and filling your lonely room with the cries of a forgotten soul.
It all sounded like music to you though.
You'd singing your little ballads to the whale outside your window, to the face of a mask, or to your own reflection. the lyrics to these songs are what gets you the most.
'Help', 'I can't take it anymore', 'Let me go' flow from your lips into a chilling tale of your life here. You now skeleton like frame in curled up on the floor, letting the voices in your head sing for you today.
"Remember that time...when we were all together?"
The music video begins behind closed eyes of a little girl, couldn't be more than ten, black hair, green eyes, skipping around you as you do your best to hand the final ornament on a plastic Christmas tree.
Her young giggling, mixes in with a much older chuckle and the song begins playing.
"Bloo'y 'ell, 2-Dents, ya' hangin' the ornaments too bloo'y high!" A bass voice begins.
"Sorry, Mudz, I guess I go' carri'd away the'e." A scared voice joins in a duet.
"Wha' ever, faceache, jus' spread 'em out." The bass huffs.
"Pretty!" The young soprano of the group joins you as a trio. Her runs around the tree with brightly colored lights and garland all around her.
"Baby girl, slow down, yo' gonna hurt somebody." A baritone joins now.
"Sorry, Russel-san."
"It's okay, baby girl."
"It okay?"
"Yes, it's okay."
You let the lyrics sound in your head longer than the music video lasted. The melancholy lyrics strike the chords in your heart as your only moment of happiest leaves you once again, leaving you with a dull ache.
The voices in your head are once again replaced with your own voice, screaming for peace.
Disclaimers: I own nothing.
