My name is Aldis Wyler. I'm just your average kid from Pallet Town. When I was a child, though, something happened to change my life. This is the story of my childhood.

The furthest back I can remember in my childhood is when I turned five. As far as I know, that's when the abuse started. It was my birthday, I was happy as could be. My parents had been telling me they had a surprise planned for my birthday. Hooray! I remember thinking. Maybe I'll finally get a Pokémon to play with! My thoughts were very wrong. That day, something snapped in my parents. I'm not entirely sure what happened.

Looking back and now knowing what Pokémon are capable of, there could have been an evil psychic Pokémon behind it all. Anyways, before we even got to to the cake, my parents started arguing about something. I can't even remember what it was. I started crying because they were yelling at each other, and my dad came over and hit me. That was only a measure of what was to come.

It happened slowly, the abuse. There would more more and more each week that passed. I started to contemplate suicide. When I turned eight, I tried running away but they caught me and beat me even more. At nine, I actually tried suicide. Mom found me hanging and took me off the noose. For a minute, I thought she was actually concerned for me, but after she saw I was ok she beat me for what I did.

Finally, at ten years old, old enough to go off on a journey, I made an escape. I woke up at five in the morning, before my parents were up and snuck out my window. I ran faster than I'd ever run before. Don't ever go into the tall grass, I remembered my parents telling me. If you do, your hide will be tanned by us if not by the wild Pokémon first. I was hesitant at first, but I ran in.

I kept tripping over Pidgey and Rattatta, and then I fell face first onto the ground. I looked up, and oddly there was an Abra in front of me. I remember thinking that Abra weren't native to that route. I figured he was going to teleport away from me, but he didn't. He just sat there, staring at me. Examining me. After about two minutes of us staring at each other, it held its hand out. Come... I heard in my head.

I felt compelled to go to it after I heard the voice. I got up and slowly walked towards it, and grabbed its hand. Next thing I knew, I was in the middle of a city in a completely different region, I came to find out. That day was the day that I started my new life.
