The Dark Arts have fascinated you for as long as you can remember.
They are seductive, with their promise of power and greatness, and there is no way you can escape.
You don't want to.
Because you're made for power, aren't you Bellatrix? It is what lies in your future – power and the right to rule.
It is no surprise that you find Tom Riddle – Voldemort – so intriguing. He represents all that you have ever wanted; the Dark Arts, power, a kindred spirit. Sometimes, you think fanciful thoughts, imagining him to be an angel, come straight from hell to build his own kingdom here.
It's not difficult to fall for him. Rodolphus means nothing to you. He is just a plaything, something your parents saddled you with so that they could live up to tradition and society's expectations.
But those mean nothing to you, not when you have your own prince of hell besides you. He gives you everything you've ever wanted – the screams, the pleas, the blood. He gives you the chance to make everything pure.
You are important to him, something you've never felt before. In the pureblood society you were raised in, your gender meant that you were always relegated to being lesser. He doesn't care about that. All he cares about is your power.
You never believe he is gone. He is an angel, a prince – he cannot die.
For a while, you are right. He returns, more powerful than ever before. And with you by his side, he cuts through your enemies, building an empire that will last a million years.
But the thing is, darling, even angels fall. And all kingdoms fade.
You can see it, it that last, fateful battle. Even without their little Saviour, those disgusting little creatures seem poised to win. Poised to defeat and kill him, the only man you'll ever love.
But you won't see him die. You don't think your heart would be able to stand that. So you do the only thing you can to ensure that you never have to live in a world without him.
There's a red-haired girl, a Weasley brat no doubt. Her brother's just been killed by one of your comrades, and you've heard the stories about their mother's brilliance as a dueller.
All you have to do is target the girl, and the mother will come to you of her own free will. A few taunts, and the reminder of her son's death…
You have always been a master manipulator, and making sure you're killed is as easy as anything you've ever done before.
As you die, your last thoughts are that you hope he will kill a few more of the red-haired blood-traitors before he falls. Maybe he'll even avenge your death.
And then there's nothingness.
But that's okay. He'll be here soon, and when he comes – well, you have a whole new world in front of you to conquer.
And the two of you together – you'll make sure that this one will not fall.
