I did say I was already retiring from writing but this drabble was just bugging me to be written.

Once, when Sarada was six, Sasuke had seen a boy talking to her.
It would have mattered little had the boy not chosen a farther spot from the rest of the class, and if the said boy had not been holding a sunflower stalk on his outstretched hand. And maybe if the said boy had not chosen his daughter—the Uchiha heir—to be the recipient of such attention in the first place.
"You're really pretty, Sarada-chan," the boy started, his face burning in embarrassment, his arm trembling nervously.
There was an unmistakable scowl that crossed Sasuke's face as he concealed his presence. He didn't like where this was going.
The boy shifted on his feet and, with a deep breath, declared, "I—I like you Sarada-chan!"
When his daughter was born, the thought of such situation arising had briefly crossed his mind, but he dismissed the idea for a later date. He did not anticipate that he would have to deal with brats like this boy as early as now—his daughter hadn't even reached chuunin level yet!
Sarada blinked, and her brows furrowed as she slowly asked, "You..like me? Why?"
"B-Because you're smart.. And very pretty! Especially your eyes... They're.. Like shiny stones.." the boy admitted, voice slowly faltering in embarrassment.
Whose bloody kid was this boy anyway? Sasuke's scowl deepened and he would have interrupted had his daughter not spoken first.
Sarada sighed deeply and shook her head, arms crossed in front of her chest. "My mother said I should choose a man like my father. You're nowhere near him." She raised her hand and ticked the list on her fingers, "First, your Taijutsu needs improvement, second, you failed the recent Genjutsu exam, third, I'm sorry but you really suck at Ninjutsu and—hey!"
But the boy had squeaked and ran away.
The young Uchiha blinked and pinched the bridge of her nose as she muttered, "Boys are stupid."
Sasuke smirked. He had never felt more proud of his daughter... and of course at his wife who had been teaching her well.
Sakura struggled to catch her breath. She turned to the man beside her, a grin on her lips, "You seem.. more passionate than usual, Sasuke..." Her brows furrowed suspiciously, "Did something happen?"
Sasuke smirked, his hand running against her soft pink hair, "You deserve a reward."
"Reward? For what?" But Sakura was not able to learn why because Sasuke had claimed her again.
And again.
Sarada examined the pair of red glasses on her hands before turning to her father questioningly, "But father, I have perfect eyesight."
There was only the barest crinkling of his eyes as Sasuke tried to maintain a neutral expression, "Use it to protect your eyes." From the corner, he could see Sakura momentarily looking up from the pan of eggs she was cooking to glance at him curiously.
He could also see the hesitation on his daughter's eyes and so he added, "Our eyes are very delicate. Wear it until you awaken your Sharingan."
Sarada's eyes brightened with excitement as she fitted the frames on her face. "So you'll train with me today if I wear these? Please father!"
"After breakfast," he replied and Sarada grinned widely as she rushed to her mother.
For the time being, the glasses would protect his daughter—
His eyes focused on Sakura brushing Sarada's hair to the side to complement her new spectacles. Both females turned to him and smiled warmly. He could feel a small smile tug at the corner of his lips.
—from unwanted attention.
"Sasuke, Sarada seems to be... stalking Boruto-kun.."
Shit.
