No spoilers. Could be any season. Any time. Just a gentle Winchester moment. Or Sam being a brat, just like all little brothers are supposed to be. After all, that is why Dean loves him so much.
To: Trasan. Two weeks ago right now, we were gabbing in Portland. Thank you to you and your family for showing us a wonderful time.
- A Winchester Moment-
"Good morning," Sam beamed at Dean when the older man opened his eyes and peered up at him blearily.
Dean scowled, not moving. "Wha'swrong with you?"
"Nothing," Sam denied as he perched on the edge of his bed and actually vibrated with sunny-ness.
Dean glanced at the clock. 8:09 AM. Little Mr. Sunshine let him sleep in then… They were supposed to be up and on the road by now. Well that was nice. Deciding to cut the kid some slack on that point alone, Dean slowly pushed himself up to sitting and swung his legs over the side of the bed. Leaning forward, he scrubbed a hand over his face and yawned. "You let me sleep in?"
"Sure," Sam grinned. "Why not?"
Now Dean was worried. "Okay, who are you and what have you done with my brother?"
Sam actually laughed, dimples blazingly bright. "And people say you aren't a morning person."
Continuing to eye the other man with concern, Dean finally decided he needed a shower before dealing with whatever Sam's major malfunction of the morning was. "I'm getting a shower," he announced standing up.
Sam stood with him, still smiling way too wide. "Water pressure's awesome."
Dean paused, his concern notching up. "You already had a shower?" And I didn't hear anything? Went unspoken.
"Good God, no," Sam was laughing again. "Figured I'd let you have at it first, or I'd never hear the end of it."
"True," Dean agreed, his suspicions rising. Rubbing his hand across his face again, he finally just stared straight at his way-too-chipper brother, and blurted out. "Christo."
"And I love you too," Sam chuckled, very obviously unaffected by the word.
"Sam…" Dean growled the name and was waived off.
"Dude, chill. It's good. Just go get your shower and we'll take off."
Not totally convinced but now needing to take a leak, Dean went into the bathroom, casting his brother one final wary look before closing door.
As the door closed, Sam burst out laughing. It was true what they said. Smile and it makes other people wonder what you've been up to… or in the Winchester world, it makes your brother think you've been possessed. Hearing the water go on, Sam knew today was going to be a good day.
The End
