"Grandpa, wake up! It's morning! Wake up!"
Jedi Master Tyln Dooku groaned and woke to his seven year old granddaughter's cries from outside his room.
"All right! I'm awake!"
He dressed and left his room, sweeping Cas Taylor/Dooku into his strong arms. He kissed her forehead.
"Good morning, sweetie."
"Morning, Grandpa," she beamed.
He made breakfast and packed her bag for her classes.
As she brushed her teeth, he brushed and braided her dark brown hair.
"There. Pretty like your mother."
She giggled, her dark blue eyes sparkling like her mother's had. She scampered off to her classes, and Dooku went to meet his old Padawan, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn.
"Hello, Master."
"Hello, Qui-Gon. Where's Obi-Wan?"
Obi-Wan Kenobi was Qui-Gon's current apprentice.
"He's with his friends for the day since we're leaving for Naboo tomorrow."
"I see."
Qui-Gon poured them some tea.
"How's Cas doing?"
"Great. She misses you."
Jinn smiled.
"Obi-Wan and I miss her, too."
"Why don't you two join us for dinner tonight?"
The younger Master nodded.
"All right."
The hours passed, and Dooku returned home. Cas soon came home and jumped for joy when he told her Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan were coming over for dinner.
The door chimed, and Cas opened it.
"Obi-Wan!" she squealed, jumping at the Padawan, who grinned and hugged her back.
"Hey. What am I, chopped liver?"
She giggled and hugged Qui-Gon.
"Hi, Uncle Qui-Gon."
Obi-Wan sniffed the air.
"Mmm. Smells good in here."
"It smells like Master Dooku's famous Bantha Steak."
A chuckle from the man in question floated from the kitchen.
"Good nose, my old Padawan."
The duo took Cas into the main room, where they proceed to play with her and keep her busy so Dooku could finish cooking without the child running about.
After dinner it was bedtime.
Each giving Cas a kiss to the forehead, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan left.
Cas got ready for bed and settled in bed. Dooku sat on the edge of her bed and began to sing her lullaby.
"Little child, please close your eyes
Close your eyes, yes shut them tight
As a dream to your heart soon flies
Soon you will awake to morning's light
Little child, relax your mind
As I sing to you this lullaby
One day here your place you'll find
If you believe know that you can fly
Little child, I say goodnight
Sleep well and plesant dreams
You are safe in the Force's light
As you travel night's enchanted streams.
Dream a dream straight from you heart
Let your friend's love all around you surround
When you do, you won't be so far apart
Knowing you're being watched from all around
Your innocence is like a shinning star
You'll be to many people a true friend
Your friends will help you in life go far
They'll be there for you to the bitter end
But for now, little child, dream a dream."
Cas was fast asleep.
Dooku smiled and kissed her forehead.
"Sweet dreams, little one," he whispered.
He stopped at the door to shut off the lights, ending another day for him as a grandfather.
