Bella's Poems

Chapter 1

Edwards's POV

As I cleaned Bella's bedroom for her, I saw a notebook sticking out underneath her wardrobe so I fished them out. I flipped through the pages. On the first page, it was written in an untidy scrawl:

Bella's Poems For Edward

I tucked the notebook underneath my leather jacket. Ouch. Not a good idea. I hid it in my bag just as Bella walked in.

Bella's POV

Edward was hiding something. I could tell because his eyes were strange – they were flickering around my room. I asked him suspiciously, " What are you hiding?"

" Oh, nothing."

" You are hiding something from me, and I bet that it's from my room."

" I tell you, nothing happened." He assured me.

I wasn't sure I believed him, but Edward was ushering me to bed. He tucked me to bed and hummed my lullaby. I fell asleep immediately.

Edward's POV

As soon as Bella was asleep, I took out the notebook. I started to read the first page,

" Dear Eddie(I groaned),

Please enjoy it.

Bella."

Blunt, but still, sweet. I started to read the first poem:

The very day I met you

The very day I met you,
Was a wonderful, wonderful day.
That special moment,
Was like yesterday.

The very day I met you,
I was caught by your smile.
It was so sweet,
I was thrown by a mile.

The very day I met you,
I was wishing you'd be mine.
I wondered if you would consent
To be my Valentine.

Now, looking back,
I am very, very content.
You and me are together,
Your smile's for rent.

Typical Bella. I put the notebook on her desk. I took a pen and paper and wrote,

" Dearest Bella,

You have taken my soul (if I have one) away with this book of poems. I love with all my heart. You didn't have to write this. But still, I am forever touched.

Love,

Edward."

I placed it gentlely on the book of poems. I sat on the rocking chair and waited for the sun to rise.
