Prompt #534 from tamingthemuse- Callback

Note: From now on most of my tamingthemuse stories will be named as the challenge.

Note 2: I just binge watched Glee and have fallen in love with Klaine so I thought I'd try writing a story about them.

Blaine left the auditorium shortly after his audition. When Artie told him they wanted him for a callback not for the role of Bernardo or Office Krupke but for Tony. The role that Kurt wanted so badly. He asked them if he could have a day to think it over. They all agreed wanting Blaine to not feel pressured and scaring him off. He was their Tony!

Knowing Kurt was still in the school because he said he'd wait for Blaine to see how his audition went. It only took Blaine a couple minutes to find Kurt. His head was in his locker. "Kurt, what are you looking for?" Blaine asked confused why Kurt's had his head in his locker. Did his locker lead to Narnia?

With a sigh Kurt pulled his head out and looked at Blaine. He had no doubt his eyes were red from crying. "Nothing."

"What happened?" Blaine asked all thoughts of West Side Story disappeared. "Are you okay? Were you slushied?" He didn't see any colored corn syrup anywhere on Kurt and he was still wearing the same clothes he came to school in. "Tell me what happened."

"It just hasn't been the best day I've ever had," Kurt answered. When he saw that Blaine wasn't going to let it go he told him about his day. "I wanted to know what Artie, Ms. Pillsbury and Coach Beiste thought about my performance and while Ms. Pillsbury thought I'd make a great Tony but Artie and Coach Beiste think I'm to delicate for the role of Tony. So I decided to audition a second time playing Romeo to prove I can be less delicate and everyone laughed at me including my best friend. Then Brittany realized she is a unicorn as well and is now running against me for Class President." Kurt looked at Blaine with a sad smile. "And now my boyfriend is going to get the role of Tony."

Blaine paled. How did Kurt know he was offered the role? "How do you know about that?"

"I watched your audition from the balcony. You know how much I love watching you preform. You were really good by the way." Kurt closed his locker and swung his backpack over his shoulder. "Amazing actually. You'll make a great Tony."

"I haven't accepted the role, Kurt," Blaine said. He saw the shock on Kurt's face. "I couldn't do that to you. Not without at least talking to you about it. I know how much you wanted to play Tony. What it meant to you, and if you don't want me to play him than I won't."

Kurt hugged Blaine tight. "I do want to play Tony but you are much better than me. It would be selfish of me to tell you what to do. To deny McKinley High of the best damn Tony they will ever see."

"Thank you," Blaine whispered before kissing Kurt's cheek. Kurt didn't like public displays of affection, afraid of what would happen if someone saw but there was no one around. Not after school hours.

"Let's find Artie to let him know you'll be trying for the part of Tony which you will get," Kurt said with certainty. With a pat on Blaine's shoulder they headed towards the auditorium. Maybe he could play Office Krupke instead.

The End
