Silent Night
Notes: This is a one-shot for my friend, SocietyMember, it has Aushun, and set in the real world. Gerita if you squint.
Roderich looked at the sleeping child, and smiled warmly. The young boy was all wrapped up in his soft blankets in his crib. His mother, Elizabeta was out shopping, and she would be back soon. Roderich sighed, she was out in the rain, and he knew arguing with her would be stupid, so he told her to be careful. He was in the piano room, trying out a new song.
Thunder clashed suddenly, and Roderich winced as his young son began crying. He quickly stood up from his seat, scooped the child up, and held him.
"Zere, zere. Mama would be here shortly." He cooed softly. It didn't seem to have any affect on the baby, and so Roderich took matters in his own hands. He dragged the crib closer to his piano, and set his son down in the still-warm blankets. He flexed his fingers, and played some keys to a certain song, it wasn't an average child's lullaby, but it was soft and sweet.
The child, who was crying, began to simmer down as his eyes got heavier. Roderich played more of the notes, softly singing.
"Silent night, holy night," He began softly, his eyes were on his son, who was yawning a bit.
"All is calm, all is bright, round yon Virgin, Mother and child," He continued, playing the soft keys of the piano. Suddenly, a new voice came to sing.
"Holy infant, so tender and mild," Elizabeta, who had came home, was wet. She placed the groceries down, put a warm blanket around her, and picked up her sleepy son, joining in the lullaby.
"Sleep in heavenly peace," The two chorused in soft voices, Roderich was of course playing, and Elizabeta slowly rocking her son in her arms.
"Sleep in heavenly peace."
The song ended, and Elizabeta kissed her son's forehead. She looked at her husband softly as she placed her child down.
"Thank you, Roderich. What woke him up?" She asked as the two helped put up the groceries a little later.
"Vell, it was lighting, and I didn't want him awake and scared." He admitted.
Elizabeta then kissed him. "Thank you, dear. You did wonderful, just like with Feli when she was a little girl." She said chuckling, remembering a certain Italian was afraid of thunder and lightening.
"Bah, she was a darn tomboy, poor Ludwig didn't know what hit him when he found out zat she was a girl." Roderich rolled his eyes as he put up the last of the groceries.
"Well, I'll make sure that our son doesn't become a cross-dresser, then!" She chuckled softly, both parents went back into the piano room. Elizabeta picked her sleeping son up gently and held him while Roderich played some more of his music, all were content in the Edelstein household, despite the thundering weather was outside. Twas a good night.
…...
Okay, there you go, SocietyMember, I hope it wasn't to sucky! The boy's name is whatever you want it to be, and I think I almost died of sweetness! But I'm alive, so no worries!
