Johanna, Beetee and all of the tributes died. Even Peeta, Katniss' fake fiancé, except for Finnick and Katniss. They don't know what to do. They both know that one of them would be coming out of the arena alive.

They rest an lie upon a palm tree. Taking their rest for the night.

"Finnick?" Katniss called him

"Hmmm?" Finnick hummed in response

"What are we going to do?" Katniss asked the male tribute.

They both froze. Unsure what to say next.

"Katniss, I think that you should be the victor..." Finnick said sincerely.

"Finnick, no! I-" Katniss said, interrupted.

"No Katniss... I don't have something or someone to live for." Finnick said.

Katniss puts her head on his shoulder.

Morning came. Katniss doesn't exactly know why she's in this position. Arrow lodged in the bowstring and pulled back. Aiming at Finnick. Tears spilling on her face.

"Katniss, please don't forget me. Okay?" Finnick gave me one last smirk. More of a sad smirk. He turned around so the arrow would hit his back. He drops his trident. My hand firm on the bowstring.

She can't do it. Realizing that she has developed feelings for this man. There is more to him than the arrogant, outgoing exterior. She made a final decision. She has to go back to Prim, to mom, to Gale, to District 12.

But her hands dropped the bow and ran to Finnick. She went into his welcome arms. Katniss looked up to the familiar bronze hair and sea-green eyes. There are tears spilling on his face.

"Katniss! What are you doing?" Finnick asked, voice broken.

He wiped the tears off her face with his thumb.

"Finnick, I can't do it!" She sobbed to his chest.

He held her tighter. Stroking her hair. An action that never fails to comfort Katniss.

"Neither would have I, Katniss..." He said with such sorrow. Finnick tucked her hair behind her ears.

He started to lean in slowly. Katniss mirroring his actions. For what seemed like centuries, their lips finally met. To them, it felt right. Like their lips are meant to be joined all along. They are full of passion, and love to give a care about the world. They are back in reality. They pulled away. Katniss put her head on his chest, listening to his soothing heartbeat.

"What now?" Katniss asked. She felt safe in Finnick's arms. To his tan skin to her pale one.

"I guess we stay? We have the spile and we can get food?" Finnick looked at her with a smile. Attempting to lighten the mood.

Katniss just laughed. She held his hand. They walked to the beach. No one can stop them now.
