Golden light filtered through the thick mass of trees to illuminate her beautiful face. Her golden hair gently framed face as it rested lightly on her cheek bones. Slowly a clear tear fell through the glassy mirrors that were her eyes. She could not see me, in her last minutes she could not see me. My heart felt like it was being ripped and torn into pieces.

i fell onto my hands and knees beside her and tried to staunch the bloody river that flowed from her chest.

"Annabeth, please, stay with me." i begged her hoarsely. Her mouth moved silently.

"Annabeth, my darling, save your strength. You can make it. i promise." i reached one bloody hand into my back pocket to get her some ambrosia. Carefully i placed it into her mouth; but as she tried to eat it, bloody dripped slowly out of her mouth and down her chin.

"No! No! Annabeth... please, come on!" i cried, tears falling down my ashen face. Her scabbed and scarred hands reached to cup my face, her eyes looking at me with concern as if i was the one dying.

"Let me go, Percy." She coughed through the blood.

"Annabeth... i can't-" she stopped me by resting her her bloody fingers to my lips.

"i love you seaweed brain but you have to let me go." She said through tears of blood. i turned to Chiron crying pleadingly "Help her, please." But in answer he shook his head.

"Apollo?" "Athena?" "Anyone? please!" Everybody looked sadly at me, they wouldn't help me.

"Hold me, Percy." She whispered softly. "Stay with me?"

Slowly i cradled her in my arms as she breathed harshly and slowly, as if each breath was torturous. "Always, Annabeth, until forever. Until the stars fall from the sky." i whispered back with a small smile on my face as my silent tears fell down into her hair. She slowly laughed causing her to grimace in pain and her coughs to shake her whole body. she slowly whispered with a smile on her face, "Until the end... i Lov-"

My tears fell down faster and faster leaving salty tracks down my face, "Annabeth... sweetheart?" i asked quietly. There was no response... no shallow breathing. i looked down into her peaceful grey eyes, dry tracks of blood left to stain her cheeks. i slowly closed her eyelids and kissed her cold lips.

"i love you too. See you soon."
