Companions
Rose is aware that in her time exiled away, in another Universe no less, she has changed, grown and matured beyond her years… at least, in some ways. So, when she gets the opportunity to realign the Universe so that it doesn't revolve around Donna Noble, she jumps at the chance.
She's been watching the 'anomalies' since they began… and Donna… somehow even she feels connected to this random person in time and place, like maybe even she is revolving around this supposedly unremarkable woman. A temp, no less.
After it all, if she pauses to think about it, which she doesn't like to do too often, she's not entirely certain if it's the connection to Donna or the tenuous link to the Doctor that she represents that ties them together. She's noticed that neither of them appears to be contesting about such trivial semantics too loudly however.
They might be the Doctor's companions, but now, in this wilderness between worlds and realities she is familiar with, they are also companions to each other, and not in the strictest Victorian sense either… or maybe they are. Rose would be the first to admit that she was never that good at school anyway, so she could be wrong. Although that aspect of herself seems to have changed with her added responsibilities for the welfare of the world… and not even a world she is allowed to live in, with her new reality and the joining of her world's Torchwood.
