Lord of War
Chapter 1 - First shot
"-And do you really think I'm afraid of dying?"- she kept her eyes settled on him. – "After everything I've lost, do you really think dying would be a bad thing for me?"
He watched her for a while. She didn't seem afraid or sad… Actually, in the last two months that they had spent together – hiding – she had stopped being so sensitive. He remembered the first time he caught her crying, the indescribable anger that possessed him. And he still couldn't understand why; because, after all, he was a Malfoy.
But despite his heritage and the cold detachment that marked him as a Malfoy, she had managed to get under his skin, becoming a drug that was as sweet as it was addicting. The way she always tried to make him feel comfortable about everything that happened, the way she hugged him when he needed the most… The way she found out who Draco Malfoy really was, and accepted him.
Even if he didn't wanted to admit, she was the last important thing standing in his life. And when did she become that? He didn't really know, but it was too late to change it.
There was also something that he could lose by dying, and it was something that she didn't care about: pride.
"-Granger, let's be rational." – He ran his hands through his perfectly blond hair, and it was the first time in seven years that Hermione saw him tremble. – "We don't have Potter anymore. We don't have Dumbledore. We don't even have Weasel! It's just you and me against sets of death eaters and the Lord, against ninety nine percent of possibility to fail."
"-There still is one percent." – she murmured, her voice failing. – "And we will base on it."
He knew Gryffindors were known for their bravery, but this was simply stupidity.
"-Granger, think! If we give up…"
A strident noise echoed through the walls of the humid cave, and the lips of the blond boy suddenly bent over in a sarcastic smile.
"-Too late. We will die."
"-Shut up!" – Hermione stirred her pockets quickly, and when her fingers touched what she was looking for she held it firmly with one hand, while the other one searched for Malfoy in the middle of the darkness.
When hundreds of hexes were heard and colorful beams crossed the air in their direction, the girl closed her eyes and did what she had given up doing a long time ago: she prayed.

Hello everybody!
This is my first TR/HG, and I hope everybody enjoyed this chapter (even though it's more like a prologue, bug eh…). I'm still not very sure about what to do with Draco… (actually I do know, but it's a surprise mwahaha!)
Before I forget, I want to thanks Bella for being the best beta ever! (I know that dealing with me demands a lot of patience haha);
And well… If you want to leave an opinion about the fic, I'll love to read and answer!
That's all, kisses!
