Title: Slaying Demons Is Hard Work
Author: Britt Britt
Rating: G
Summary: Xander encounters a demon.
Disclaimer: I had to borrow a couple of characters from Joss and Mutant Enemy, but I'll give them right back afterwards, I swear.
Timeline: Some time in the near future I guess.
"Demon! Demon!" Xander screamed as the big purple demon trapped him in a corner, "someone help!"
The huge monster was hovering over him with its menacing smile, big head, and dangerous looking tail. Xander had no where to run. He glanced around for help, but no one was there. He decided to take matters into his own hands. The demon had short legs, he could use that to his advantage. So as the demon stretched its hand toward him, with all his might, Xander kicked it in what looked like the shin area of it.
It roared in pain and Xander felt proudness sweep over him. He thought of doing a happy dance, but decided it better to run, there could be more. He didn't get more than ten feet when he collided with something much worse than the purple demon he just slayed. He liked that, 'slayed.' He looked up to see...
"Alexander Rupert Harris Junior!" Anya scolded her five year old son. Great, she said his middle name. He hated that name, but his father said it came from a friend. Curse the person they named him after. Anya picked up little Xander Junior as Xander Senior emerged from then baby isle of the Toys R Us they were in. "Xander, look what your son did!" she pointed to the guy dressed in a Barney costume kneeling over.
"Oh, sorry man," Xander Sr. called to him.
"He obviously gets it from you. This violence toward demons."
"Oh come on, An," Xander persisted, rubbing his son's hair, "he's a tough guy, there's nothing to get upset about."
"I'm not upset, I just don't want to get kicked out of this store like the last one. Remember last week with the telletubby?" she asked still holding her son.
"You see, that was different," Xander Sr. explained, "telletubbies are evil."
"Well I don't want to go out of town just for baby clothes. I hope you don't treat the next one to hate demons." With little Xander still in her arms, she started for the exit doors.
Xander Sr. rolled his eyes ad followed. "I do not hate demons."
"Spike?"
"I have good reason, he tried to kill me."
Xander Jr. laid his head on his mother's shoulder as his parents continued to bicker.
"Angel?"
"Tried to kill me too."
He gave a yawn. Slaying demons is hard work.
