TBTBTB

It was a lovely day for flying, thought Alan lazily as he watched Tin-Tin take off in a small TE jet. She was off to the mainland for a day of shopping and errands, and he grinned to himself as he thought of the delicious dinners which would soon be cooked on the Island with the results of this shopping. Yes, it certainly takes a mountain of food to feed us Tracys, he mused to himself. Good thing we've got great cooks to keep us satisfied!

Sighing as he turned towards Thunderbird 3's launch bay, Alan turned his thoughts to the new upgrades which he needed to review to TB 3's advanced meteorite avoidance system. He had to hand it to Brains, it was as if the super-genius could peer into the future and divine exactly which new machines or materials International Rescue required next. Prepping the new system with Scott and Brains took up the entire day, except for the delectable lunch of lobster raviolis and Caesar salad which they wolfed down before returning to their tasks.

As the dinner chime sounded throughout Tracy Island, the three young men headed for the dinner table. They were pleased at how well the installation of the new equipment and software had gone, and were gladly anticipating a fine dinner and some relaxation around the pool afterwards.

Alan seated himself at his customary position at the table, eagerly awaiting Tin-Tin's appearance for dinner. She was always happy after shopping, and he looked forward to some funny banter about any new clothes she had purchased–-perhaps a new swimsuit was in the offing? He could only hope! And then Tin-Tin made her entrance, and Alan's jaw hit the floor. "Tin-Tin! What on earth did you do with your hair?" The rest of the family and Brains grew absolutely silent as well, staring hard at the lovely young lady.

Tin-Tin placed a tray of barbecued ribs on the table, smiled and twirled gracefully around. Her long, dark, lovely locks were gone! She sported an adorable and quite short layered bob. "Well everybody, how do you like my new look?" Jeff was the first to regain his composure, and fondly told her, "Tin-Tin, it's adorable." Virgil smiled and told her, "Honey, you look fantastic." Alan, still shocked, quietly said, "Uh, Tin-Tin, I've heard that women change their hairstyles when they are tired of the men they love." Tin-Tin laughed gaily and replied, "Oh, Alan! I went in for a trim and there were some ladies from the Cancer Society at the beauty shop. They were looking for donations of long hair, not chemically treated, to make wigs for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. The poor patients have so much to contend with, and losing their hair during their medical treatments makes them feel so awful. My hair will go to make a wig or two for them, and I hope it helps them recover more easily. They should feel better about themselves when they look better, don't you think?"

Alan stood, pulled out Tin-Tin's chair next to him, and gently placed a kiss on her cheek. "Tin-Tin, you have a new hairdo as beautiful as your kind heart is. I think what you've done today is just wonderful!"

As usual, dinner was then rapidly devoured!
