My Screams

I remember feeling rage. Uncontrollable, unfathomable. It was like a fire burning in every aspect of my existence. My fists clenched, my teeth pressed down against each other so hard I felt they'd break. Above me, the sky was black. The stars were dim, and the air was vicious, filling my ears.

"Ahh!" I screamed, my mouth tearing wide open, and my throat ringing. I could feel my neck tense up until it throbbed. My eyes were locked in a deep scowl. Finally, I let out a scream, pouring out all my hatred, anger, frustration, and all my bottled up fury. For what felt like years, the scream continued on, echoing throughout the black canyon I was trapped in. I felt my body shake, but my mind was no longer connected to my physical self.

For that instant, I wasn't human, I was a monster. Everyone knew that. Behind me, I could feel the temperature reach subzero, and the lake was frozen solid. My body was absorbing all the energy in the area.

My name is Fran Fine, and this is the day I died...
