A/N—Warning: long ramblings ahead. I wasn't planning on writing another J&J fiction for awhile, especially with track and school filling up my schedule, but I had received many great reviews on my last J&J fanfic and many people requested I continue the other one—but I honestly am not inspired to add another chapter so I decided to reward you wonderful reviewers with a whole new story. This will be a multi-chap and sorry this chapter is so short (like really really REALLY short), I wanted to save most of the other stuff for later chapters.

Jeremy&Jane

I was praying that you and I might end up together

Jeremy raced out of the black limousine with only one person on his mind. He felt his heart rate pick up speed as he realized what he was about to do – what he never believed he would ever do. He was going to tell a woman he was beginning to fall in love with them.

Even now he wasn't even sure if that was the case. He didn't know what love is, let alone know if that was what he was feeling. The only thing that Jeremy Jones did know was this – he was developing intense feelings for Jane Quimby.

For most of his childhood he was always the outsider. While his older brothers were the sports stars of his family, he was the artist. His parents always discouraged his designing – they said it was something unsuccessful girls would do. But Jeremy ignored their protests and insults and pursued his dreams. With his decision, though, he lost any remaining contact he had with his family and he hasn't seen them since.

From the day they left Jeremy on his own he decided to never become attached to anything but his work. And he remained faithful to that promise for the many years it took him to rise farther up to his job. Through those years he had been with many women, but only for beneficial purposes. That is, until Jane Quimby's energy popped into his life.

Sure, he originally never had any intentions of starting a real relationship with her, but after weeks of spending time with her and seeing her excited glee, he began to truly like her. And each time he met with Gray's ex-husband, leaking valuable information, he was reminded of each time Jane got excited over something that happened at work. He remembered what is was like when he got that feeling too, and he felt like scum thinking about it each time.

So that's why he ended things tonight, because Jane reminded him that designing isn't about the competition and money, but it's about that warm feeling you get after week's worth of work and seeing it all come alive on the stage.

As Jeremy raced into the building, maneuvering around the boxes and racks full of clothing, he began to hear voices on the stage where he left Jane only moments before. He slowed his jog down to a walk and went around the black curtains. And that was when he found Jane standing exactly in the middle of stage, with another guy.

"Jane?" He called, and when she turned around, her eyes were widened in surprise.

"Woah." He heard her faintly whisper. Jeremy peered closer at the punk-looking guy in front of her. It was then that he realized he recognized him. He was the guy that India was interrogating at the high school - only with a completely different appearance. .

"What the hell is going on?" Jeremy demanded to Jane, who currently looked deeply confused, herself.

"I- I, um," She stuttered, staring wide-eyed between both boys.

The other guy stepped forward and stuck out his hand, with a daring stare and said, "Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Jane's boyfriend."

And then Jane turned and ran off the stage, without looking back.
