This is going to be a one-shot fanfic...the idea just came to me randomly. This is only going to need one chapter, anyways...
Trellia could hear the guardian. But why? None of the other dolphins in her pod could. Perhaps it is that I was chosen for a duty...Perhaps that is my destiny... She kept telling herself. But she could not figure out what it was. Finally, she decided to ask the guardian. Guardian...why am I different from my pod? Why can I hear you, when none of the others can? She asked meekly. She feared that ability, and the one that she had only recently found...her ability to travel back through time. It proved that she had been chosen for a duty...but why her? Why not the one of the others?
Have you never heard of your ancestor? The guardian seemed surprised. Have you not heard of the one named Ecco?

Yes, Ecco...the defender of the future, the one that could travel through the tides of time. He was different, too. You have oversized fins, and he had a star pattern on his head. You have a spotted one in your pod, as he had. A sign that something great is to happen, with the Atlantians guarding you always...
But why do I have the power to travel in time, as he could?
Dear Trellia, you do not understand? Your destiny, what you are here to do, is to bring Ecco here. Only through your help can he rescue his pod, and then his ancestors may be born.
